Will non-eating seafood kids enjoy Coral Reef?

I really want to take the kids to Coral Reef for the atmosphere, but is this really a mistake if my kids do not like Seafood???

They typically have a chicken, steak and vegetarian item on the menu, as well as the standard kids' menu. You should be fine.

The only issues I could foresee is if they have an adverse reaction to even the smell of seafood, because there definitely can be a fishy smell wafting around the joint.

I am not sure how old your children are but I remember them having chicken and a pasta on the menu for kids in addition to Mahi Mahi which is a very mild tasting fish.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm a Coral Reef fan (even though it's crazy noisy and they seat so far behind ADRs). I've been many times. When we took our grandson, age 4, he did not enjoy this place at all. He was bored within a few minutes and he hated the food offerings on the children's menu.

None of my non-fish/seafood eating family members who choose from the adult menu like this place. I know they offer a steak and the ones who ordered that didn't like it. I think there was also some pasta dish that got a big thumbs down. I always order fish so I'm happy.

Hhhhmmmm? They are 6 and 8... They love aquariums but just not sure about the child menu food choices. Does anyone have a link to the kids menu there? I found the DIS menu but did not see kids options listed in that link?? Is there a second link I missed?

We eat at Coral Reef every trip. I hate seafood. I love the chicken and my
DS25 still says it is the best meal he has had in WDW. Thats saying something since he has been more than 30 times! I don't know about the chicken on the kids menu but if it is anything like the adult entree............YUM. I sub mashed or fries for the spaetzel on the adult menu.

Our most recent visit to Coral Reef was in July of last year. We thought the atmosphere was cool, my husband enjoyed his entree and we all liked the corn chowder - including the kids. Unfortunately, the updated menu makes it look like the soup selection rotates, and the corn chowder is not guaranteed. Our kids believe the kids' pizza is too small and they were not interested in either the chicken or the fish. So they ordered the meaty macaroni and were disappointed - it had lots of onions in the sauce. Even if the corn chowder remains on the menu, it's not enough to keep Coral Reef on our rotation.

For a seafood restaurant, the Coral Reef's menu really isn't seafood heavy. You don't say how old your kids are, but if they are still eating from the kids menu it's pretty much the same at CR as any other TS establishment so they should be fine.

You might want to check out the menus posted online; while they're not a guarantee of what will be on the menu when you dine, they should give you a pretty good idea of what's being served.

Just my .02 :hippie:

DS2 is still on the kids menu and had cheese pizza while we were there - he's not a big seafood fan. Neither is my DH, and he enjoyed his steak. We all really enjoyed the aquarium, so it was definitely worth it for us to go with 2 seafood haters.
