Will NEVER try to use Fairy Godmothers again

Hi all,
Got back from a wonderful 5 night trip to Disney. Got to stay in the Club level for the first time. What a difference getting continental breakfast and snacks made.

Well, I felt compelled to write this although I don't like bearing negative reports.

Here are the facts:
We reserved babysitting with Fairy Godmothers for the night of my birthday for us to go to CA Grill. No one shows up. No one calls. We waited 30-45 minutes. I call the woman that I made the ressies with. She said she was on the road and did not have the information in front of her, but would call me back. Never calls back that night. CA Grill cancelled. I called her the next day to cancel another ressie we had with her the next day (because at this point, we do NOT want anyone from her company near our children). She said that she tried to call back but all the circuits must have been busy. No apology. No explanation.

It did not ruin my vacation. We still had a great time.

There are other in room babysitting services, and we have used one for 2 previous trips. I thought it was this company, but in hindsight, it might have been a company called Kids nite out.

Oh well. I know I am always interested in the experience of people using childcare so that is why I shared this.

OMG, I am so sorry this happened to you! I cannot imagine an agency doing that. Obviously they should realize that someone needing their service while in the world needs it for a special reason. IMO, this is just unacceptable. I am glad it did not ruin your vacation, but WOW -- not good!

Wow, that is really poor customer service to say the least! Have you contacted them since to get an explanation? I would be on the phone with them to figure out how they could prevent this from happening to someone else.

What a great attitude you have, and didn't let it ruin your vacation! I'm glad you posted since it has been a few years since we used their service when our son was young.

I guess part of the sacrifice I made to have a great vacation was to not have it out with the woman. I had already come to the conclusion that I wasn't dealing with a person with a lot of integrity, i.e. not calling, not being sorry, not providing arranged services, making excuses(possibly lying?) about how she tried to call me back and the circuits were busy(??? I was at the Swan)...

It was just a judgment call, but I had to just let it go. It would have just made me pop my cork if I expected a responsible service oriented response from her and she continued to give me excuses for what happened.

Fortunately, Camp Dolphin had some openings and the little guys went there for a little while and we went over to Epcot for a quick bite.

We certainly didn't take our kids to Disney World to hand them over to someone else, but boy, a few hours by ourselves is just FUN.
