Will my picky 4 and 8 yo boys like teppan edo? We have an ADR our last night in Disney and I keep wondering if they will like it or not. Any thoughts?

They should love the show. As for the food, it depends on just HOW picky they are. The food certainly isn't particularly exotic or spicy. It's pretty much familiar American ingredients prepared in a Japanese style. My friends have 2 boys around the same age and their absolute favorite restaurant is our local teppanyaki house.

My picky kids (8 and 10) enjoyed it. They won't eat any veggies at all, but they still liked the chicken. They also loved the spectacle and the amazing service. They couldn't get over the hot towels! I recommend it.

I have one sorta picky eater and one that will eat anything put in front of him.:) They both loved it. DS had the kids shrimp meal and DD had the kids chicken. It was cooked on the grill in front of them and came with rice or noodles. They both ate very well and begged to return.

I have a very picky DD who enjoyed Teppan Edo. She was 8 when we went. She had the chicken, and ate some of her veggies. She also enjoys the shrimp at our local Japanese place.

My 11 year old DD and 5 year old DS are both kinda picky. They loved it when we went in Oct. Neither eats the Veggies (DS loves the Mushrooms) but they enjoyed the show and Fried Rice along with their steak and/or chicken. If you are not sure go to the local Japanese Restaurant and see how that goes before heading to Disney.

My picky 4 yr old didn't do so well. He loved the show.. and tried to eat some chicken but that was about it.
I think he would do better with it now that he is a bit older.
His issue was that he used to get really anxious about eating anything that looked unfamiliar. So even if it was things he had eaten before the presentation was different and he just couldn't do it.
Like I said though, he would be better now that he is a little more adventurous.

We were there for dinner on New Year's Eve. Yes I think your children would really enjoy the show. I think they could prepare something, either chicken or beef in a way that your kids would like. We had a guy at our table who wanted a veggie plate and the chef was very good about asking him if he wanted this and that on his veggies. I don't like spicy food at all and found the food to be very good. Good Luck!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

Hmmm. My boys only eat chicken fingers and white rice when we get Chinese food, so I am not even sure they will eat chicken with sauce. Do they have tempura? They might eat that.

My boys loved the show given by the chefs, but thought the food was just OK. DS6 didn't like the kids grilled chicken because it had a sauce on it and had sesame seeds. He did like my steak, so he ate that instead. Next time, I would ask the chef to just make plain grilled chicken. They do offer tempora chicken (not sure if it's on the kids menu though). But I know mine won't eat them unless it tastes like a chicken nugget.

My picky 3 and 5 year olds liked it. Honestly they weren't great eaters there. But they started out cranky and tired and once we were seated they were enthralled and loved the show! My boys got chicken with noodles.

The food really isn't served with a "sauce" - just seasonings. And it is served with a bowl of steamed white rice, not fried rice.
They have a Tempura appetizer that is an assortment of chicken, shrimp and veggie tempura. Even if you are on the DDP you would have to pay OOP for this and the serving size is not large.
If you think they would do better with Tempura, Tokoyo Dining, the other restaurant in Japan has a much wider selection of Tempura offerings. It might be a better choice for your family.
Good Luck
