Will MS adjust this for me?

I have a Sept. use year, A few weeks ago a waitlist for BLT in October came through, so they took the points from my 2012 year for it, Today I banked a number of points into the 2012 UY which would cover most of that October stay,

Here is my question, do you think that MS will adjust my points and use the now banked points and put back those 2012 points into my account.

I'd rather use the banked points now and keep the rest to possibly be banked next year.

I hope someone can post an answer before I call them in the morning so I know what to expect.

I don't think there is any definitive answer.

Going by the letter of the law, they don't have to make any adjustments. They used the points which were most appropriate for the reservation at the time that the wait list came available. If you had banked the points sooner, they would have used banked points first.

But never hurts to ask. Let us know what happens.

Because the trip will occur in the 2012 Use Year and, at the time the wait list was satisfied, the 2011 points had not been banked. DVC will not automatically assume that a member wishes to bank unused points when making a reservation for a future Use Year.

Typically, they will do the switch of points in the reservation that you will be requesting without your losing the reservation.

I have 4 home resorts, so am constantly having to adjust the points used for my reservations. MS can adjust your points for you. I would suggest making sure that the CM you talk to is familiar with the process, or request that a supervisor help you.

It's too late for this, but I always tell the CM where I would want the points to come fom if the waitlist comes through. Maybe this isn't an option with on inline booking. I hope they reallocate the points for you.

Tjkraz is correct, at the time the wait list had come through I still hadn't banked the points into the 2012 UY, I just did that yesterday because my banking deadline was today, I liked it better when there were banking levels, like at this date you could bank 100% and by this date you could bank 50% and by another date you could bank 25%, but now it's only 100% or nothing

Great news, MS fixed the point issue quickly with no problem just by making an adjustment to the points, it shows on my account, they returned the 2012 points and then used the banked points, I'm very happy!

We have 3 home resorts and 3 UY (don't ask!) Does it ever happen where you booked your home resort at the 11 month window and then ended up using another home's points later? I was just wondering if this was possible without canceling the reservation and rebooking...with a chance of losing it! Not trying to do this on a regular basis or anything, but we just added on points and it would be helpful to switch some of the points were using.

DVC is only supposed to reallocate points from one Home to another if there is still availability at 7 months. In other words, you cannot book with Beach Club points at 11 months and then call 7 mos out and ask to have the reservation switched to SSR points. Such requests are only supposed to be granted if there vacancies at 7 months. Otherwise it's considered a circumvention of the Home resort booking rules.
