A question for those of you that have been to MK between Christmas and New Years -

What are the chances that MK will reach capacity and be closed to entry on Dec 30? If this happens, how bad are the lines? (examples of your experience on specific rides would be appreciated). There are some less popular rides that we have not been on for a few years that we might head for, but my kids would want to do some of their favorites as well.

Also, how quickly do fast passes sell out during this week?

I've never been there during this time frame. I'll bump this back to page one for you, though, so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

Adding on this this thread with another related question. If we are staying a WDW resort. It's my understanding that even if the park reaches capacity we can still get it in. Is that right?

We were at MK the day after Christmas last year. As far as I know the gates were never closed to guests. We took advantage of EE and stayed in the park till after 10 PM. The park started to thin out after the 8 PM spectromagic parade.

Lines were still going strong for BTMRR & Space Mountain. Splash Mountain had no line cause it was cool, DS 6 and I rode it bunch of times in a row.

My understanding on Entrance into the parks is this

Phase 1 Close Parking lots to guests

Phase 2 Close parks to non resorts guests

Phase 3 Parks closed.

I have read that they will get you into a theme parks, but it may not be the park of your choice.

We will be at WDW this year 12/28- 1/2.

We're pretty flexible. We just want to be somewhere to see some fireworks and then hop on some rides.

I think DVC guy is right. I know that even Disney guests can be turned away if a park is at its capacity.

As for whether or not that will happen at a certain time, that I can't answer.

My understanding is that Disney Resort guests are entitled to entry to A park, but not necessarily your choice. Example - they may only allow resort guest entry to Animal Kingdom if the other parks are at capacity.

Is there any way to find out if a park is closed to entry. I assume guest services at the Disney hotels would know but we will not be staying at one. Can we call somewhere?
