We are going to US/IOA for a few days during our trip. Do you think it would be a bad idea to go on monday, memorial day? Should we not go until tuesday?

Thanks!!
Amanda

If you can wait until Tuesday, you would enjoy it much better.. that said, yes, it will be very crowded. Not like Christmas, New Years, Easter & the 4th..however.. it will be crowded

If you must go that day and don't get to visit often, an Express Pass is a must ($15/person/park).

We went Memorial week in 2003, and it was crowded, but bearable. The only problem we had was that we tried to do both US and IOA in one day. We hit the big (main) rides at US when the gates opened and made it through most of the park by 1pm. We were doing pretty good until we arrived at IOA for the rest of the afternoon and evening, thinking that we had until 9pm. Little did we know, the park was closing that evening at 7pm. So we missed about 1/2 the park! I did get to ride Hulk though. I didn't get to Dueling Dragons. So needless to say, when we go next week, we are saving a full day for IOA!
But really, if you get there when the gates open, and have a plan of which rides you want to ride in a specific order, you should do fine. Also, find out what the park hours are BEFORE you go........lol Someone posted a link on here somewhere.......maybe someone else can help you with that. I can't post links yet. ;)

Hours are here.

The better idea, is to visit IOA first, then USF.
Why? Because if you arrive the gates of IOA at 8am and go in first, you can get a front seat ride on Hulk, ride Dr Doom, Spiderman, then hi-tail it to Deuling Dragons for a front seat ride on each coaster. You can do JPRA as a water ride, because it's only a little splash if you are in the back. After that, head over to USF and hit the Mummy.
The rest of the USF attractions hold more people, and you can use single rider line for MIB.
I think it's better to take a lap at IOA to start the day, then head over to USF in the afternoon.
