I got an email at work saying that Listerine will get rid of mosquitos:cool1: Is it true? Is there anything that can really get rid of those stinkin bugs?

i think if they are still enough to put listerine on them, i would just slap them.

It will work if you can get the mosquitoes to gargle with it.;)

All I can say is not once did a mosquito ever fly into my mouth!

A naturalist (not a naturist!) that I know says that two of the ingredients in Listerine are both known to be mosquito repellents.

He says you actually have to rub the stuff on your skin for it to work. Umm... maybe I'll try it... but then again... maybe not.

Here's an interview he did with his local paper...

Maybe if you dumped Listerine into a stagnant pool of water where mosquitos lay there eggs it would kill the larve.
I don't believe rubbing it on your skin will have any effect except maybe get them alittle tipsy :faint:

I don't know about the repelling part..... But my DMIL puts listerine on my kids after they have been bitten by a mosquito. She says it stops it from itching. So far it seems like it works. I don't know if it's mind over matter, but she she has been doing this since they where very small. Just my 2 cents worth.:goodvibes
