Will jet blue fares come back down?

We purchased great flights on the release date for the week before thanksgiving. We got a great fare! The problem is 8 out of our 13 party weren't able to book the same time as us but can now, but now the fares have skyrocketed over $200 of what we paid, which is just too much for the rest of the party. Does anyone know if these fares will come back down, I mean not even saying to our price at $270 for nonstop out of boston the week before thanksgiving (I know that was a good deal) but do you think it would come down at all even a smidge close to that? Right now its at $490 for the same flights we just booked 3 days ago.... I could've sworn ive seen this happen before in 2013 with jet blue fares and they ended up coming back down after about 2 weeks but then again I can't remember for sure and that was for October......any insight would truly be appreciated!

I am not sure about your dates but I will tell you my return flight home in May has remained high and has not gone down. Going down I paid $99 but coming home they want $169

I honestly would not hold my breath. Especially around any holiday. Rule of thumb for holidays is book as far in advance as possible as prices go up, not down.

With that said, don't search for 8 tickets at once, you may be locking in a higher fare bucket. Always price one person and then work your way up to see how many people you can get before the fare changes. If it remains the same for 1 person and 8 people, no way is the price coming back down.

The same thing happened in october to our friends. i always book jet blue and told my friend to book it as soon as i did. round trip from jfk to mco was $260. She waited a few weeks and it went up to over $400. she ended up using spirit air and flying into tampa as it was alot cheaper. i just booked our upcoming october trip on Sunday as soon as the fairs came out at noon. Got the rate of $272 round trip non stop. I don't think they will come down much more than that.

Unlikely, per information released by jetBlue or available on their website a while back.

We have flown Jetblue 9 times now (with 6 more flights booked with them for 2015). In our experience so far, only ONCE has the price gone down after booking.....and by only $20 per ticket. Every other time, fares have only gone up, and sometimes by very substantial margins.

I have had fares go down, but not in the past year or so. If JB feels that they can sell those seats at the higher price, they will keep it there...no reason for them to lower them. If the seats aren't selling, then maybe they will. But, there's just no way of knowing for sure.

flew Jet Blue to MCO in October 2013.booked our resort the 1st week of May so 5.5 months before our trip was when I started looking for airfare.. Prices never dropped, I finally booked the air around 60 days before the trip. Kept checking and there were a lot of seat available. No drop in price until 8 days before our departure when they went down $110 each.

That's a busy travel time. You never know, but I'm going with those who predict prices will not drop. I would be buying those tickets now. You can also check prices on other airlines.

I'm glad I saw this post! Was going to make reservations for our November trip in a couple of weeks (after credit card cycle ended), but jumped quick when I saw our flight picks had gone up $20. Good thing because today they are up another $100!!
