My husband has a conference in Orlando, and I will be able to join him for the trip. We will dine together in the evenings, but he is in meetings all day long. I made a dining reservation for one at Be Our Guest for an 8:50 breakfast. Will it be too weird to be dining alone? I couldn't get in to the restaurant for any other meals where he could join me, and I really love to go there.

I don't think it would be weird at all. So many people do it. But I would keep trying as many times BOG reservations open days before. So keep trying. If not enjoy the restaurant.

First I dont think dining alone is weird at all -- add to that BOG being a quick service, I wouldn't worry in the least! :)

Not. At. All.

We ate out every single night whilst we were away, and I can't say I even noticed anyone dining alone. Not that they weren't there, there must be tens/hundreds/thousands doing it, just that it didn't even register..

So I shouldn't worry about it. Just go, eat, and enjoy it. :)

yes it will feel weird, BUT that shouldn't stop you from doing it, I was once on a similar situation and did had lunch all by myself at the new Harry Potter Leaking cauldron, the "weirdeness" lasted few seconds once I got my food I enjoyed every second of it. Enjoy!!! :wave2:

No, I do it quite often, as DH is away many days, and kids are grown. I could care less what people think. Plus, everyone else is there to eat too, not watch others eating. Have fun. I enjoy solo. Can do and go where ever, when ever I want.

Enjoy! I do it all the time! It felt strange in the beginning, but now I absolutely love it. I do it alot on work trips and for lunch. My coworkers aren't the type that like to eat out, but I do, and so I just do it alone!

I travel to Disney alone all the time and eat out by myself - including doing character meals alone. If it is something you are used to doing (like me), you will be fine. If you aren't used to being alone, it might feel a little weird at first. Just relax, enjoy yourself, and do your thing. And remember, everyone is so wrapped up in what THEY are doing, no one will notice you are alone.

I'm going to have my first WDW meal alone, and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm going to one of the Pandora AP previews without DH and DS, and the first thing I did was book Tiffins! There's no way I would be able to enjoy that on another trip with a three year old.

I did a solo trip a few years ago. I was very nervous about dining alone, but I had to eat lol! My first meal there was lunch at Kona. I brought a Kindle and expected to be able to read while dining there. I didn't have time at that meal, or any other meal in fact. Usually if a server saw me alone, they chatted with me a bit. I also had other diners talk to me. I never initiated the conversations, I am typically very shy. It was nice to talk with everyone! I even met a couple and they asked me if I was on the DIS. I had just recently joined and they told me it's a very useful tool!
I actually enjoyed dining alone. I could leave as soon as I was done, or sit and enjoy the atmosphere (which I did for a long time at BOG). I was hesitant about dining at a buffet alone, so I only did one - Boma. It was very nice and I had no issues at all. I was worried they would clear off my table when I would go to the buffet. They would clear my table of dirty dishes, but left my drink. And that is a restaurant my family would not like at all, so it was nice to try it!

I have never been to WDW alone, but have been to Disneyland many times alone and actually enjoy dining solo. The first time it is weird, for the first 30 seconds or so.. But then you realize that no one cares! Everyone is so into their own family, and their own meals.. Ive had some fun conversations with other groups, the servers usually chat a little with you, and its really not bad at all. You can eat at your own pace, relax afterwards or if you want to just leave when you're done, you can do that too! Another bonus of being solo is that no one will judge you if you skip the meal and just have dessert :)

I go solo all the time, and have never felt weird dining alone at Disney. Mainly for the reason you brought up in the first place - there are so many people there attending conferences that either the attendees, or their significant others, end up dining alone. I feel more comfortable dining alone at Disney than in the real world.

I wouldn't do a character buffet alone - but other than that, I am quite comfortable eating alone. I bring my ipad & read a book - converse with the wait staff if they're chatty.

My avatar is from the Grand Floridian Cafe - what a peaceful lunch. Me, my ipad, an awesome waitress at a WDW restaurant. I was in heaven! :)

Nope, not weird, may feel a little weird, but it is not :) My father often eats out alone cuz my mother just doesn't feel like going out after work, he couldn't care less what people think. I used to eat alone at Disney often, everyone else would bail on me and go back to the hotel so me and the likes of Sonny Eclipse and multiple lounge bartenders have had dinner many times together

I'm pretty weird, but I eat out alone all the time and it's not the reason for my weirdness:) Some weeks, unless I'm with colleagues at lunch or entertain clients/colleagues in the evening, I'll eat every meal out/room service, and alone. I love it. You can read on your phone, surf the dis or news, social media, play games, people watch, have a cocktail and enjoy your meal at your pace. Sometimes I rush through, sometimes I graze. Whatever YOU want to do. How could that be weird?

Unless you bear a striking resemblance to Mickey, Goofy, one of the Princesses, etc. (you get the idea) no one will even notice. So many people dine alone at WDW, even if they're not solo-maybe Junior got tired, so spouse took him back to the room to nap; maybe spouse got sick; maybe spouse is tired, golfing, etc. I've taken lots of solo trips and I admit that it took time to get over the wierdness feeling, knowing how common it is to dine solo helped (as did a good book!)

I don't think so at all! And breakfast is a lot more casual than dinner there too so that should make you feel more comfortable.
Plus..solo BOG breakfast means that pastry tray is all for you so you're winning!
