Will it be hard to get concierge in AKV? UPDATE 6/19.. We GOT it!!

If I call 11 months out before I go, what are the chances I can get into concierge? We are going May 14-19 on Disney Dream, and then spending 5 or 6 nights at AKV.

I will say 98%. I was unable to get 1 night of a 3 day ressie at 11 month mark at 9 am for late July.

At 11 months out, DH got me April 13 to 17 for next year! This was our 4th try and success for a concierge stay, each time in a studio. There was another time that was successful, but we cancelled for something else.

I'll agree on a 95-98% success rate for you. Disneycouple99, are you waitlisted for that other night?

You just never know.

I called at exactly the 11-month window exactly when MS opened for a studio concierge for 12/18 - 12/23. I was locked out and my waitlist has yet to come through. I changed my plans and I was able to pick up ONE day 12/21 and I am hoping for 1-3 more days but I think I'll have to pick them up one at a time.

Since you're looking for a more quiet time you should have few problems as long as you call right away.

I got my reservation for March 12-20 in AKG concierge studio but I "walked" the reservation to make sure. I think I walked it from March 5 if I remember correctly.

If you have to have a studio then it is tougher, if a 1 br is a possibility then it is very likely.

I just picked up a studio from March 7-12 yesterday!! I think it was at 10months out. We had to take a day off of the vacation but thats fine DH said we can pay cash to stay at Poly for a night if I want. So you just never know!

There are 5 studios and 5 one bedrooms, all lockoffs which can form a 2 bedroom.

We changed vacation plans and now I ended up not using the concierge studio that I "walked" in the first place. My FIL is letting us use his RCI points for a one bedroom at Kidani March 18-24. I had booked concierge studio for 3/25 and was waitlisted for 3/26. Today DH and I talked about it and I canceled the 3/25 date, too. We are going to stay at one of the Universal hotels for 3/25 and 3/26 since we've never been to the Universal parks. Sticker shock set in when I made the reservation this morning- $330 per night for a standard view hotel room! DVC has us SO spoiled... I just don't "do" hotel rooms anymore!

Anyway, if anyone was waitlisted for concierge studio at AK for 3/25, hopefully your waitlist came through today.

I was able to get a concierge studio for six of my seven days (I called at 9am 11 months out) 01/06/2011-01/12/2011 we are waitlisted for the first night 01/05/2011 but have a value studio as a backup!!!! It isn't a really bust time but it is right after New Years and right before the marathon, so I would say that you shouldn't really have a problem but you never know.

I called yesterday morning too, right at 9:00 am and I got a 2 bedroom for 3 nights concierge before we leave on our cruise on the Disney Dream on May 22nd.
I kind of get a kick out of all this planning so far in advance. I have a trips that I have not even taken yet this year and I am getting excited about a trip that is 11 months away

I hope I am lucky as you two. I am going on the Dream for the New Years cruise next year. Want to stay at AKV/AKL concierge 12/26 to 12/29 before the cruise.

We have stayed CL 3 years in a row and have been very lucky getting an April stay of 5 nights. We decided this year to go in May 2011 instead of April. I was on the phone lass Tuesday redialing starting at 857am. Got right thru, gave all my info and then she told me she had a computer problem and was going to transfer me to another agent I did not have a warm and fuzzy feeling but the other agent answered by 9:01( I was dialing on my cell also just in case) She said she had it available and asked me to hold. Now its 904 by my clock and i know this hold time is the kiss of death and sure enough she come back and and says basically sorry she had a computer problem and now its gone. I ask for a Supervisor and even though I know it will do no good I needed to vent. Bascially nothing they can do but waitlist me. I said my peace and guess we will be staying elsewhere next May!

We stayed 10 nights in a concierge studio last August and we really enjoyed it!

This year when I called at the 11 month mark there were no concierge studios available (I wanted June 4 - 16). Instead of messing with the waitlist we just booked a value 1 bedroom.

We loved having daily housekeeping and turn-down service, and we loved the Sunrise Safari. I usually make all of my own ADRs, but the ones that I asked IPO to make for me were precisely what I asked for.
