Just as we all have favorite resorts and attractions at WDW we have room/view preferences. No one is right and no one is wrong. It's all about what's best for you and your family.
I have never stayed in a BW view room at BWV. I don't doubt I would enjoy the view very much if I did. BUT I value my points more than I value a view. I would rather visit BWV more frequently with a standard view than use up my points (and go less frequently or stay fewer days) getting a BW view.
For those folks who have tons of points I don't doubt that the BW view is great. I have 250 points and I value each and every one. If I want a BW view when I am at BWV I leave my room and go to an area of BWV that has a view! Unless I am on my terrace I can't tell the difference when I am in the room anyway, and I don't spend all that much time on the terrace.
