Our trip is 3 weeks away and I am starting to have 2nd thoughts! I was reading on another thread how crowded it is Easter week and I'm considering moving our reservations to Memorial week after the kids are out of school. I really wanted to try Spring Break because of the weather and also because of family health issues. Our trip is April 1 - April 9. I was hoping it would not be too bad until it gets closer to Easter and by the end of the week we will have moved over to Universal where at least we'll have FOTL. Somebody please reassure me!

Oh yes, one other thing...I've heard EPCOT usually is not too bad even during peak times. Is this true for Easter week as well?

We have gone either the week before Easter or Easter week and it was doable. We enjoyed both visits. We always have to go on Spring Break and we love the weather! the crowds are managable. We hit every ride we wanted to and more. We also saw lots and lots of characters. I've never been any other time, so I don't know how things are at a less crowded time. My advice to you is enjoy what you can and if you miss something, you'll have reason to go back!

kimr, We are also going April 1, They say the weather is perfect this time of year (this will be our first trip in 13 years!) We are following the unofficial guide touring plans for some of the days and doing early opening on sunday April 4 at mk. Maybe will see ya there hehe . The last time we went was at Christmas so we are used to the crowds. I'm sure you'll have fun!:wave2:

the last time we were there was at Easter and the crowds were not bad at all. We made good use of early entry and fastpass. I think the longest lines we were in were at the water parks. It at times was a bit crowded while walking around, and once we got stuck trying to leave during a parade, but that was our fault. The weather is nice and you should have fun.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I haven't been to WDW during that week, but we were at Universal last year and will be again this year. The FOTL made our time at Universal good. Walking around was very crowded, but we didn't have to spend too much time in line. We got to the parks at opening, took an afternoon break, and returned around dinner time.

T&B

We'll be there April 2-11.

I plan to take advantage of EE,FP, and hit all of our must do items the first few days. As the crowds build, we'll just go with the flow.

You can never regret a trip to WDW. Even if it is crowded you will have a great time. We will be there Easter Week and are really looking forwrd to it. GL and enjoy your trip.:D :) ;) ::yes::

We are going April 7 - 11. I am going with the attitude that we can't see it all and any trip to the World is good.

We only go about every four years and DD leaves for college in the fall so this may be our last chance as a family.

I'll be there for my 1st WDW Easter Week trip too! Just planning to hit the parks early, take a long pool break then back for dinner and fireworks at night. Sure it will be crowded, but the weather sounds just about perfect and we sure could use a break right about now!:earseek:

I agree with all these folks. We were worried about our Easter trip, being used to going at slow times, but we had a great time. Get up early, use FP, and enjoy the beautiful weather and longer hours.

Thanks for the replies. We've got to WDW quite a few times and will go back many more, so we are not worried about getting to do and see everything; we intend to just concentrate on our favorites. We had such a wonderful time on our trip last year, and on prior trips as well, I don't want this time to be a let-down due to the crowds. We are staying at the YC, which will be new for the girls. They love GF, but I think they are going to flip when the see the pool at YC. Also, if the crowds get too terribly bad, I suppose we can just head back to the pool.

I understand your worries! We went Easter week in 99 and 01, and had no problem doing everything we wanted. In fact that's the only time we have gone recenlty and had a great time! We are taking a short trip (April 3-5) this year, and I began to worry about the crowds b/c of everything I have recently heard. But, I agree with everyone else. Use EE, FP, break if you need and have a great time! We too will be at MK April 4 for EE! See you there! :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Everyone's got the right idea for that.....start early, go back and swim/rest and then return in the evening. I think I'm more excited about going back to POR and staying at AKL for the first time then anything else. It's gonna be great. Have fun everyone!!!

I just returned last night from 3 nights at Disney and it's packed, packed, packed. Disney is actually seeing crowds back like they had prior to 9/11. Our friend who works at Disney (he's pretty up high) has told us that they are fully committed the week of Easter at all the resorts and are expecting exceptional crowds. That being said, as long as you know that there will be plenty of people and go early, you'll do just fine. Take advantage of early entrance, fast passes and breaks during the middle of the day. Realize that there will be lines and crowds and you won't be upset. Have a great attitude that you're in Disney and it's one of the best places in the world!!
Just make sure that you have PS for your meals. They were turning people away this weekend from a lot of the places that we ate and it's just the beginning of spring break. We had PS had were just fine.
Hey, a day at Disney is better than a day anywhere else!!

Which is busier? The week leading up to easter weekend, or the week after easter?

Our spring break starts on Good Friday and goes through the following week. We will be staying in FL with family and are considering a short stay at WDW Wed. and Thurs. following easter. Will the park still be really crowded those days?

We have been to WDW for the last 4 Easter Breaks and although it can be a bit crowded, with Fast Pass and planning, you can get every thng done that you would like to do. We have also been in June and found that to be much more crowded and the weather was soooooo hot. So plan a little and relax a little and have a great time!!!!!

KaJohn....

A CM once told me that the parks are busier the week leading up to Easter Sunday. But, we always have to go when the kids are off school.
The parks will be very busy the Wed and Thursday after. Last year, I remember MK being closed for a couple hours on Tues, Wed, and Thursday. The waterparks were at capacity by 10:30 am. Things do not quite down until Saturday or Sunday after Easter.

We too will be there April 1-4. We took DS out of school 2 days early to try and beat the Easter week crowds a little. Then off to US/IOA and FOTL during Easter week, so that will help. As everyone else here said....with EE and FS and good planing you'll have a great time. And you can't beat the weather....April has the least amount of rainfall with temps in 80s.

Have a great time and we'll see ya there!
