Will I need restaurant reservations?

We'll be at Universal July 2-4. We'll be staying onsite (RPR) and should have "priority seating", but given that it is a busy time, I'm wondering if we need to make reservations for restaurants. We'll be wanting to eat in CityWalk (Emiril's and/or Vivo) on July 3rd at lunchtime, and maybe on July 4th at dinnertime (if not Citywalk, we might eat in one of the parks on the 4th). Do you think we ought to make reservations, and is there a penalty (like at Disney) if we end up missing a reservation?

I would make a reservation since you plan on going over a holiday period

No penalty if you miss your reservation
No cc hold was ever required when I made them
