We were going to stay at RPR In May the 18-21st . We have had some money issues and are now considering staying offsite ? Is this a bad move ?

Yes. Bad move. May is busy. Cut your disney trip short, take your own sodas into the park, and pack a bag lunch. Express is worth it, especially now there are no free express tickets.

Gotta disagree. May usually doesn't get busy until the end of the month. I don't think it is too busy around the 18th as most schools around here don't get out until the 22nd.

I have a pretty good feeling, though schools dont get out until later in the month it will still be very busy. The "kids free" thing is getting word and most people that normally go to disney during those times are opting instead to go to UO. Traditionally yes, its slow.....but this year hasnt been very traditional. There are definately ways to see everything without Express, but those are covered in the many other threads on the same topic. Again, IMO.....spend the extra cash, go to the hotels and get the FOTL.

Osceola and Orange counties end school May 23rd. Broward county South Florida is May 25th. So you will be going the weekend before kids get out, which is good.

Besides the FOTL, you have to consider the other extras the onsite hotels offer. Like a short walk to/from the parks, and the awesome pools.

I've done both, and you can save money staying across the street

but staying onsite is worth the splurge. You have 3 months, save up a little each week.
