we're staying at AKL and not sure if we will eat there or not?
Are the waiting times long in the summer?

It's busy ALL the time. A reservation is a good idea. If you decide not to eat there, you can cancel it.

We called on April 11th in the morning and got a reservation for breakfast on April 13th (Week after Easter)

Calling is a good thing, but if you change your mind and want to try a different time, you can probably get lucky!

Thanks for the info! We're just not sure what we're doing on our first night at WDW

You'd probably get in. However, I'd currently expect waits of an hour or more for walkups. Much easier to have a reservation.

We had the DDP one time while staying at AKL. We ate at Boma often (and have gone back several times on other trips) and we've never had an ADR. The most we've ever had to wait was about 30 minutes, and that's the same time for a regular restaurant around town here on a weekend.

I think that we've never experienced a long wait there because it's a buffet and there are no characters, so people are eating and leaving, not having to wait for the characters to make their rounds.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

We were just there in January, supposedly a slow month, and the walkups at BOMA were waiting over an hour for a table. The lobby area was jammed with people. We were glad we had our ADR's.

I would make an ADR. We were there last year the first week in Feb and the mob at the podium was massive. That was for dinner.

Reservations at Boma are a very good idea. The place is fantastic and usually fully booked no matter what the season.

I would definitely make an ADR as Boma is a very popular spot any time of year. For our trip last June, I called every day for 2 months before our trip(and also once in Disney) with no luck at all for dinner.

Why take chances, make your ADR"S
