I was thinking about taking a 1:55 flight from JFK to MCO on a thursday, but I wouldn't be able to catch a cab from lower Manhattan untill 12:15, would that leave me enough time to catch my flight? I wont need to check any bags and I'll have my boarding pass, so I only have to go through security and then straight to the gate? My other option was a 2:59 Delta flight, but I dont want to be waiting around for an hour when I can be on my way to Disney!!!!

I don't know about Manhattan, so this is just general information: Passengers are advised to arrive two hours in advance for domestic flights.
You may not be just hanging around the airport for that "extra" hour - you may be waiting in line to check in for your flight or you may be waiting in line to get through security (or be subjected to a random search, or have your bag checked again at the gate before you board the plane...) Better to have too much time and use it to grab a bite or even just relax and get into vacation mode...

What is 1 hour really? I think that I would go for the later flight for sure! Like I said it is only an hour right! Better to play it safe since its vacation and all.

I don't think this is do able.Sorry to break the bad news.If you catch a cab in manhattan at 12:15 and if there is say no traffic, the driver does not get lost and say no motor vechile accidents on any road ways blocking traffic, maybe you'll get to jfk by 1:25,then you have to get out and go into the terminal and thru security,i have seen the jetblue terminal at noonish with a hour to 2 hours line at the check point, remember if the flight leaves at 1:55 most likly the cabin is sealed at 1:55,exactly.I sure it might be able to be done, but one little snag and you miss your flight.i know from where i live in brooklyn to terminal 6(jetblue is #6) it is 50 mins without any traffic at all,and thats at 3 or 4 am,there is sure to be some traffic, eithier by congestion or road work or vechile accident.I say go with the later flight.

EDIT<Not sure why i threw in the whole jetblue theme,i could have sworn i read you were flying jetblue.

Yup it was Jetblue. But im gonna go with the Delta flight. Thanks :goodvibes

Smart move. Wait till you see all the people trying to catch a taxi at noon time in the City.

Yes I think that is smart, too. They were closing flights an hour before take off when I flew a couple of weeks ago. Trying to get home from Seattle, I had to wait in line for two hours and 20 minutes to check in because my luggage was a little overweight and they insisted I get into the special needs line! Going there with the same bag I had to pay extra at checkin, but that was it. Unbelievable!
