Will I Lose Fastpasses In This Situation

I have two old tickets. I know which was mine. I have another. It was either for my daughter or my son. I don't remember. I think we all went on different days to different parks. It was a long time ago. Now I am planning a trip with just my daughter. Both tickets have linked just fine on MDE. There are several days left on both the tickets, so I can book fast passes.

I am worried though that when we try to enter the finger scan won't match, in which case we will know it's her brother's ticket. No problem if that happens -- I can just go buy her a new ticket.

But at that point will she lose fastpasses because they were booked using a different ticket?

I applaud the preparedness however in this case, your all setup and go have a great day/trip at WDW. Fingerprints aren't kept forever and you won't have any issues. (there is also a grace period where you can change tickets or they would never be able to upgrade anyone and keep them.). now some reservations changes will have fastpasses lost, but this is just old tickets.

Oh, fantastic. Thanks so much for the good news.

Just to be sure I understand, what would you recommend? Should I try to upgrade the tickets somewhere? Or should we just keep them linked to our magic bands and then use the magic bands to try to get entry, and then if the fingerprint is denied they will let us in anyway? The tickets were last used in 2011 if it matters. Thanks again!

As should be kind of clear, it has been a long time since we were last there. So much has changed.

1. This will be much easier to answer if you tell us how long ago you last used the tickets.
2. She won't lose them at all.
FPs are not "connected" to specific tickets.
Guests can make advance FP reservations, but actually use other tickets to enter the parks.

Getting back to #1-
They DO keep finger scans for older tickets, but it depends on HOW old are the tickets.

They were purchased in 2011 as MYW tickets and used for some of the days and then, at the end of the trip in 2011 they were upgraded to ten day tickets and used once more that same day or the next day. I think they have five or six days left.

I would not consider 2011 tickets to be "old."
(Some here ask about tickets from the 1980's and earlier.)
And, yes, your tickets WILL still have the original finger-scan info on-file and
it will be used when the ticket is currently scanned.

HOWEVER-
If there IS a situation that the scan refuses to cooperate (you've attached the "wrong kid's" ticket) there should not be a problem for the gate CM to simply code the reader for a NEW finger scan so that the ticket WILL work for the rest of the trip for the "right kid."

Ok, great. Thanks very much for the help. So just keep them linked in MDE or bring the paper tickets to the turnstiles?

Is this something we can check at our resort the night before or is it best just to try at the park entrance?

I also have a 1998 ticket that I was not able to link to my account. Does that count as almost old? :)

Edit: Actually it looks like I don't have a choice but to keep them linked in MDE because they show as nontransferable.

6. Does that count as almost old? :)

1. For SURE, leave everything the way it is now.
2. You can.
3. Nope.
4. Yup.
5. You CAN get that done with help from Disney (often easier to do, in-person.)
6. Yes.
And, I'm not judging that from just the years...
it has to do with the kind of finger-scans that were in use (if any) at the time "old" tickets were in use.

(There are a lot of tiny details to these ticket questions.) ;)

Excellent. Thanks again for all the help.

If we end up having to buy a new ticket that would be ok, but losing the fastpasses was my big concern. This is really quite helpful.
