....even though I don't do any thrill rides??

I've been to WDW literally dozens of times. I love to walk through Epcot and eat, drink, watch all the entertainment, soak up the atmosphere, enjoy all the little details of the theming, etc., etc. Will Universal be the same way for me or will I be bored because I won't go on the rides?

I am thinking DH and I will HAVE to go to Universal because we both love Harry Potter so much. I keep reading the hotels are even nicer that WDW resorts.

I'm feeling the need to branch out!! Do something different! Get a little wild and go to Universal instead of WDW!! What do you think...will I like it???

I don't do thrill rides either. But I love Universal. In fact we just got back from a 6 day only Universal/IOA trip.
I love the hotels and how close they are to the parks. I also think the food is better than Disney.
I think it is definitely worth the trip!

My peronal opinion is the themeing at Universal is just as good as Disney and thats one of the things I love about Univesal.
Both parks are well themed and its much more relaxed than Disney cause there is no need to rush and get it all in since bot parks are so close together :thumbsup2

You'll have a great time. we're giving wdw a miss this time.
Last went to US\ioa abut 7 years ago and looking forward to going back.
Differnt from WDW but kind of the same and not as crazy

Disney and Universal are entirely different parks, catering to entirely different people and there is really no way to compare them. I agree with ky07 that the theming at Universal is as good or even better than Disney - especially the Islands of Adventure. Harry Potterland is still in the construction stages but you can see from what they've completed that it too will be a great addition to the theming at IOA.

My DH and I are not thrill seekers by any means but we thoroughly enjoy Universal and IOA, and would not make a trip to Orlando without doing both Disney and Universal. There are tons of rides/shows that we both enjoy going on that aren't coaster related (Shrek, MIB, Simpsons, ET, Spiderman, etc)

Everyone has a different opinion and by asking 100 people if you'd personally like Universal, you'll get 100 different answers. Truthfully, only you can decide if you'd enjoy Universal - you'll never know if you like it unless you try it at least once.

I don't like rollercoasters but I like the parks at Universal. A lot of stage entertainment and IOA has great rides and most of them you get either a little wet or a lot wet. Never seemed hot.

We just got back from our Fourth One Day Trip to US/IoA....and I think you will love the shows and attractions there...

At US - there is an ANimal show that is really cool. The horror show is good as well. I don't know if you do simulator rides...but if you do - Simpsons ride is my fav.

Men In Black is a competition type ride where you are shooting things......

Blues Brothers might be right for you....i have not done that.....

Have a magical visit!

Hugs,
Mary

I like a lot of the theming in Universal too even in the older park. The last time we went I got a chai at Starbucks and just explored the New York area. The detail is great and I enjoyed just poking around.

Universal is not all thrill rides. It's about riding the movies of course but has a lot more going on than that.
