I'm thinking of taking the kids (DD14 & DS12) on a long weekend trip in January. I can get POR for the AP rate of $88.09/night including tax for 3 nights. A 3-day weekend rental at National will cost me $63 with all taxes and fees when I use the $20 off coupon from my Entertainment book. We'll need to feed the 3 of us for 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 4 dinners each plus snacks. I have the following:
  • 60K FF miles with USAir (enough for 3 free RT tickets, and yes my dates are available)
  • My AP and 2 5-day PHPs for the kids
  • 3 DQ passes
  • 6 breakfast vouchers
  • 9 Q&C vouchers
  • 9 VKLs
  • about $100 on my Disney VISA Rewards Card
  • a little over $100 on my Webcertificate Mastercard Card
  • $600 cash (holiday bonus, Christmas money, savings)
Am I being unrealistic to think that we can do this without have to worry about money? I'd really like to get one more trip in on my AP and DH has already said there will be no WDW this summer. I think he's Disney'd out. So whaddahyathink? Can this trip be done?

If I got this right, air is covered, tickets are covered, many of your meals are covered. So out of pocket is about $330 for car & hotel, leaving $470 (cash and CC rewards) for 3 days......I think that is definately do-able! I just wish I was going with you!

If you need to cut some $, since you have a car you could always buy bottled water and other grocery items at the store instead of buying food at the parks (if you run out of vouchers).

I hope you get to go, I'll send some pixie dust your way!!!!

I think you will have more than enough. Those VKL vouchers alone will keep you guys plenty stuffed. You have muffins one morning, and character breakfasts the other 2, 2 VKL vouchers will feed 3 easy with a nice big lunch leaving all Q&C vouchers for dinner. $800 for snacks, souvineers and car rental over a 3 day period sounds like a great get away to me.

GO-GO-GO- :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

(OOOPPS forgot about hotel but still think you have more than enough)

You look like you have it all covered. Now you can save on that last minute Christmas shopping for the kids and put something under the tree to let them know this is coming their way in January! It will be the their best gift for sure.

You have plenty.

I went on a solo trip two weeks ago and only spent $60 on meals at parks total for 6 days. 6 lunches and 5 dinners. I had breakfast at my offsite villa. I second buying botgtle water/pop at grocery to bring into parks.

Also, rremember "The Land" bldg with the food court will be closing Jan 2. Counter service more limited now in Epcot.

herc.

You're asking us??? :scratchin ...just go and pack the bags, you have more than enough!!! Have a good time, we'll miss you...again!!! That's a great car rate by the way.
