Will I have a problem?

I would like to book a 2 BR at Kidani Village in mid-May 2011. It's not our home resort, so we can't book until seven months before. Does anyone know our chances of getting a 2 BR at that time?

Your best plan is to book your home resort now and then try to switch at 7 months to AKV. Mid May you'll probably get AKV but if you really want certain dates it's best to book your home resort now and lock it in.

All of Kidani is 2 BR either dedicated or LO. Not all of the resort is declared yet (about 63%), so not all of the rooms can be booked with points. The big problem is what view you want. More SV than Standard views. With that being said, I would say you should get what you want at that time.

I should have clarified that we need the Standard View. We don't have enough points for SV.

There is roughly 90 Standard view 2 BRs.

We booked a dedicated 2 bedroom savannah view at the 6 month mark for the week of Memorial Day this year. AKV is not one of our home resorts, and we had no troubles! We stayed at Kidani and loved it. We loved it so much that when we got home, I changed part of our Sept trip from BCV to a standard 1 bedroom at Jambo House. I wanted savannah view, but it wasn't available. Standard view was available at Kidani and Jambo House = booked in June for a Sept trip.

While nothing is 100% certain, this is close. You should have no problem getting that reservation at 7 months.

There are going to be a lot more standards next year due to DVC reclassifying a big block of rooms from SV to ST. Also the resort should be very close to sold out by then so almost everyithing should be declared. I think a ST should be a very high probability in May

We stayed in a 2 bdrm standard view mid may last year. Booked at maybe 4 months or so prior. I would definitely call at the 7 month window. Good luck.
