Will I get membership number in time to book?

We officially closed on our DVC membership on December 13, 2013- 270 points at BWV, plus some extra banked over. I've heard it can take anywhere from 2-5 weeks for Disney to process the deed and send the member letter/welcome kit. Does that time frame seem correct? I'd love to book my first reservation for a trip starting August 16th at BWV, but I know the 7 month window for those dates are coming in January. I'd like to book before that if at all possible, but I'm stuck waiting until we hear from Disney. I'm also not sure if the 7 month window starts exactly on the date (January 16th for August 16th) or 210 days (roughly 7 months, like dining reservations) FYI- we bought from Time Share Store (if that makes a difference) and my travel group would be more than content to stay at AKL if BWV books up.

I spoke with Marta today at DVC Member Services (62 minute wait for the call. Crazy, but Marta was lovely!), who informed me that she wasn't able to search her database by my name, and needed our membership number. Has anyone had alternate experiences? Is there anything different I should ask?

I would relax and realize that Disney takes their time on purpose because you bought resale and there is nothing that you can do about. Worrying and calling doesn't speed up the process.

I would plan a latter date or be willing to stay at another resort if yours isn't available.

Thanks! More excited than worried, I hope! Unfortunately, all my friends are teachers and can't move their travel dates. Still, we'd be fine staying at an alternate resort, so I guess we'll just have to see how things work out!

We have all been there, after awhile the honeymoon will be over so enjoy the feeling while you can.

BWV is our favorite resort and we own 6 resorts, you made a good choice IMO!

Mid-August should be easier to get than July 4 or Christmas or Thanksgiving I'm gonna bet you will be able to get that time.

Congrats! We just closed on 270 pts at Boardwalk as well! We closed on Dec. 12, and the deed was recorded on Dec. 16. We received our membership number in the mail on Dec. 21 and I called and was able to get my club ID and pin number from MS on Dec. 22 and booked online that night So hopefully you should be getting yours any day now too!

We just received it earlier today- the letter came in while I was at work. I was able to call and book two preferred studios at BWV for my group (values were booked), and my parents were even able to book their trip in March. Banked the rest. Here's to a happy new year and a happy "Welcome Home"
