Correct. Also, you can link the Dolphin room reservation to MDE which will allow you to make advance FP+ selections beginning at 60 days from check-in (once you've linked park admission to MDE).

Thanks! I've already linked my Dolphin room reservation to MDE and it's going to be a long wait until May 11th when I can book my FP+ times.

This is correct. Regular RFID chips as used in many types of cards receive their power from the scanner itself. They move so close, and just the tiniest of current is sent through them to read the number. This is how the tickets that are cards work. The bands have a second transmitter that is powered to extend it's contact range so it can be read from a bit further away. That's what the battery is for. Theoretically, the close-range RFID chip will last "forever."

So I'll be able to pick up my tickets from the hotel front desk? Since this isn't a Disney-owned hotel, I was worried about how I'd get the tickets in the first place. I'm familiar with the room key/ticket we got at WDW hotels before FP+.

Dolphin has an onsite Disney ticket desk if you need to pick up.
