Will I die if I eat marshmallows roasted over a wax candle?

you could use a 'marshmallow' flavored candle! or better yet, graham cracker and chocolate flavored candle to roast the marshie and then have an instant s'more without all the extra calories!

Mikeeee

My DD, who is 4, saw them roasting marshmallows and making smores when she was watching Little Bear and Max and Ruby and has been asking me to make smores for her. So today, we did. I took a long skewer and put the marshmallows on the end of it and stuck it under the broiler. They were perfectly toasted and golden brown. Our smores were delicious!

OK who wants to do an online marshmallow roast? Maybe friday or saturday night? whatever setup you have and post a few pics?

DW suggested that. But we don't have a stove in the living room!

Mmmm...DS is in cub scouts and learning how to make a campfire. We've had several backyard marshmallow roasts lately thanks to him, and one when DH set up the outdoor fireplace.

Oh, inside, we roast over the gas range or the gas fireplace. Just make sure to waip up any drips in the FP after it's cooled.

So, seriously, how many people actually bring a bag of marshmallows and a lighter to their hotel room? Do you bring skewers too, or just try to not burn your fingers? :confused3 :rotfl:

I havent brought marshmallows to Disney hotels but I have other hotels and I just brought my own fork with me...haha I also turned the ice bucket into a big gulp. Ah I loved being a crazy teen.

Use a three wick plain candle. It works, trust me.

Also, I have a smores kit. I got it a couple of years ago for christmas - it is wonderful. Basiclaly it is one of those little burners you light and use in a buffet to keep a dish hot. you place that in a little container with a grate over it.

However, I know for a fact that three wick works, and flame me - but I have taken one to a hotel before. I am a smores junkie.

I used the flame on the stove... I need my burnt mashmellow fix!

I also roast peeps! But be careful the sugar is really hot and can burn@

I really don't want to go start a whole campfire....

Is there anything else we can use, in the living room? Hehehehehee

Mikeeee

We own a S'mores kit that we got at JCPenney. They have them in the kitchen section of most department stores for under $30 usually. It's a large ceramic crock that holds all the fixins' and the inside holds a sterno can. http://www.wise4living.com/gfeature/smores.htm
They can be used for fondue & caramel apples as well.

Of course you could skip the kit and just purchase a can of sterno to burn.

I can attest to this. 3 wick candles work great! In the winter we make "candle smores" a couple of times a week - however my dd is 13 so I can trust her to be really careful. I wouldn't do it with little kids. Just make sure you use a vanilla or non-scented candle.

I think any of the methods mentioned will work. (Well, except the microwave!) I've also just used our gas grill to toast marshmallows.

But, I have a question for the OP: What gave you the idea that you may DIE if you roasted them over a candle?
