We are going to our first MNSSHP in 2 weeks and I am reading the posts about what costumes to wear.
Will we be the only people without costumes?
What percentage of adults are dressed up at the party?
I like to dress up in scary costumes for halloween but I don't think that is appropriate for this family friendly party :confused3

I have heard the number is about 50/50 and lots of adults just wear a halloween theme tee shirt. Target has them in already.

No costumes for DH and me. We MAY get Halloween t-shirts, but we may not. But I know that we will still have a GREAT time - costumes or no. :)

I'm not dressing up and DD5 may not either. Its just too hard to find a costume that is cool and comfortable enough for WDW.

We attended the party last year. I agree, it's about 50/50. We wore Halloween t-shirts. They were all different, one from Walmart, one from Target and several from Old Navy. Very simple, but still put us in the mood for Halloween! If you're not a "costume person", then don't feel pressured to wear one. Go and enjoy - it really is a lot of fun.

I was there last year and I don't recall the ratio (for adults) reaching 50/50. Lots of kids in costumes, but I don't think 50% of the adults did. I didn't and won't this year.

When dh and I went in 2003 I wore a halloween tee shirt and he wore a golfing shirt. Lots of adults did not dress up. We did not feel out of place at all. We had a wonderful time and will be
going again. This year we are bringing our dd dsil and our grandson age 3
for his first Disney trip and his very first MNSSHP.
He will be the only one in group wearing a costume.
Have fun at Disney!

You will not be alone. I'm going without a costume. I may wear a Halloween tee- maybe not. Depends on if I find one I like and fits right. LOL I did order myself Mrs. Incredible costume to match the kids but it totally fits ridiculous on my short, NOT skinny, body. LOL I'm returning it...

DH and I are going to our first ever MNSSHP. We will not be in a costume. I think we will wear orange shirts with a DIS design that I downloaded and ironed on. It's kinda haloweenish. (is that a word?) :rotfl2:

I'm going as as 36 year old bald fat guy. Oh wait a minute...No no costume. :rotfl:

I think that's scary enough

No costume here. DD & I are going to wear Halloween Tshirts though.

When we went last year we did not wear costumes. I would say that 25-30% of adults were dressed in costumes. I'm not a costume person so I'm working on making just two different Halloween themed shirts for my party nights. When I was littl I found costumes to be scratchy, hot, the seams bugged me, and smelly (if you had the plasticky ones anyways).

F1Julie- I think it would be a mistake not to dress your 5 year old. She will be the only child without a costume - and you know how that can go. Keep in mind that it is at night and won't be as hot.
To anyone who hasn't been there, I suggest bringing the bug spray. We had a minor, but annoying mosquito problem last time we were there for the MNSSHP. Otherwise, Enjoy!

My family, DH, DD8, DS9 and I, all wear Halloween themed shirts each year. My kids opt not to wear costumes, so that they will be comfotable on the rides. Last year my DD wore the stripped Halloween leggings from Target to look a little more festive!
This will be our fourth MNSSHP. :maleficen

No costumes for DH and myself; dd will be a princess. It was so humid last year at the party I was so glad I didn't have a costume. DD shed her princess dress half way through (she had on clothes underneath). We saw some really great costumes last year though - it was fun to see what everyone had come up with.

No costumes here either. Dh and I have gone in the past and just worn plain clothes, no Halloween tees or such. This year we may try to find some Halloween tees before going but if we dont we know we will not be out of place.

DH and I are going to our first ever MNSSHP on 10/2. We are not getting dressed up. I have been looking for holiday t-shirts but have not had any luck. I went to target yesterday tried on their shirts (juniors) and they just do not fit me right (small, med,or large) I tried them all. It went from bad to worse. I may try to hit wal-mart and old navy today. I was going to try an iron on but I am not creative. Ironing is even a task for me(ha ha) :rotfl: I felt funny asking my DH to iron one more thing. :rotfl: :rotfl: If anyone finds any t-shirts let me know. I'll keep you all posted if I find anything.
