Help.....We are going to Magic Kingdom and parking our car there on a day that they close at 7:00 for a MNSSHP. If we take the monorail to Epcot that afternoon (open until 9:00pm that night) Can we still take the monorail back when Epcot closes to our car at Magic Kingdom since they should still be running until after the Halloween Party is over or will we not be allowed on the monorail since the Magic Kingdom is only open for Halloween Party guests?

Riding the monorail has nothing to do with park admissions. You can ride regardless of whether or not you're going to a park. The monorail should still be running when you leave.

i think u will be fine
the monorail gets people to resorts too not just the MK,
they also wont check to see if you have MNSSHP tickets before you get on monorail

Also, the monorail that runs to Epcot doesn't actually go to the MK, but that's all right, because you don't actually park at the MK -- you park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, in a huge lot that was originally designed to accommodate visitors to MK and Epcot, and that now houses the auto racetrack. You'll ride a parking lot tram from your car to the TTC and back to your car (unless you park within walking distance...).

So MK's status won't affect your monorail experience.

OMG!!! I actually lived through a similar experience. My mother and I parked at EPCOT and took the monorail to Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP. When the party was over, the Monorail was closed for the night. Only buses were around to take people back to their hotels. Well, no buses went back to EPCOT, only the hotels. We walked over the the TT&C and asked one of the Hollywood Studios bus drivers what we should do. He told us to hop on, and that he would drive us. Our car was pretty much the ONLY car in the whole parking lot!! We had to walk so far to get to our car!!! It was definitely an adventure! :goodvibes

Just to clarify for OP, this is the opposite issue, since you don't really park AT Magic Kingdom. You park at TTC for MK (even though it says, "Magic Kingdom"). You'll have no problem taking the monorail back to TTC after your evening at Epcot. :thumbsup2

How do you think the guests of the monorail resorts get back to their resorts after Epcot closes? They take the monorail which goes to the TTC. From there, they have to switch to the resort monorail. All you would do is simple get off and go out to your car. Very simple.

This actually happened to my sister and I one time. We got back to the TTC and got on the shuttle to the parking lot. When we got to where my car was parked the driver wasn't going to let us off because he couldn't see any cars. My car was a dark gray Chevette and it was almost the last one in the row. When we convinced him that the car was there he took us right to it. What a nice guy.

It's actually common practice once the Epcot Monorail station has shut down for the night that guests who need to get to Epcot are directed to the DHS bus and asked to tell the driver to let them off at Epcot.

Am embarassed to tell this on my self but WDW will not let you be stuck in anywhere....we had went to eat at Cape Mays and was late and when we came out Illuminations was over and no people around and we were like OK DOKY now what? as boats were done for the night--- so we walked up towards the back of Epcot and two guards were there and said no problem and let us thru and walked us to the front of the park to catch a bus. BUT--they ask if we had ever seen the burn off of the Globe from Illuminations and we said no and they said well they have to do that before they send back to storage so we watched that and was great... they were very nice to us and made sure we had a bus and told us they try never to lose a guest:cool1: they were very nice men and funny:rotfl2:

What I do is park my car in the parking lot for the last place I am going to be. In other words, if my final destination is Epcot, I park there and take the Monorail to MK, then back to Epcot for the rest of the day. At the end of a long day I don't want to have a long hike back to the car so I opt for the shortest route for that time of day.
