Whatever you choose, this thread speaks volumes on how wonderful all the lodging is at WDW -- something for everyone, as they say.
I'd still vote for WL or a value/WL split (as posted earlier) -- being close to a resort when tired with kids is a major plus.
However, that's my value and perhaps not yours.
I say that because I've never stayed at a value. One thing I can say is that whenever I was on a WDW tour or bus last year . . . or waiting in line for an attraction, I "interviewed" everyone around me, and TONS of people were staying at the values, and they all LOVED THEM. I didn't hear a bad review . . . and the kids loved them even more.
Either way, you're going to have a blast. Just listen to your gut and go for it. HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP AND BE SURE TO LET US KNOW HOW IT WORKED OUT!
