Will I at least break even with these ADR's?

I booked the DP for our family of four after much deliberation. I still don't know if I did the right thing but I just can't think about it anymore! I've looked at the menus and made so many notes my head is exploding!!! My concern is many of the restaurants we want to eat at are places a lot of people recommend paying OOP for because they aren't as expensive. So my question is do you think we will at least break even if we dine at these restaurants (2 adults, 2 teens):

1) Rose & Crown
2) Sci-Fi (lunch)
3) Biergarten dinner (CPDP)
4) Donalds breakfast
5) HDDR
6) HDDR - because it uses two credits
7) Crystal Palace - dinner

I have looked at the menus and tried to figure out what we would order, etc. I have done that a million times and I still don't know. Its so hard to guess what everyone might order four months from now!!

Thanks!

Hmmm... you've presented several challenges to breaking even -- breakfast instead of dinner, lunch instead of dinner, and a 2TS meal. I understand your confusion about trying to figure out what everyone would order, four months in advance, but understand that if you guess wrong, now, it's not really going to matter much. You'll guess "higher than" as often as you'll guess "lower than" so you should pretty-much come out with a good estimate.

Your ADRs look fine to me.

I think it's very hard not come out ahead when using the dining plan.

When we used the plan last year, dined at many buffets (breakfast and dinner). We didn't always order everything included with the plan.(Skipped dessert or appetizers.) We never ordered the most expensive items on the menu.

Even without maxing out the plan, I came out ahead. There were two adults in our party, myself and my then 13 year old son.

I did a quick little calculation (using a spreadsheet I used for my own decision), and assuming that you would order no appetizers and no desserts (except for the buffets), figuring average CS and snack choices, and figuring that you'd perhaps order the second-most costly item on each menu (except for the buffets, of course), the cash value of the plan for you would be just about $1200. Your cost would be $1063. You'd still save money using the Dining Plan.

Now, if your family members are big on appetizers or desserts, that advantage could be even bigger.

My usual question is whether your goal is to "max out" the plan or to have a great vacation. THere are certainly choices that cost more than those you've chosen...but if that is what you want to eat, you will be getting more in food than the $ you have paid for the plan.

Make the plan work for you, not the other way around.

Bicker, you rock!!!

This morning I decided to change one of my ADR's. I cancelled Donalds and scheduled LTT for dinner instead. That's something we've always wanted to do but haven't and its a better value on the DP.

Thanks for your help!
