We are going in September and will stay at a moderate hotel if the regular ddp is offered. Does anyone know if the fd that has been offered for Sept is for the regular ddp or the quick service ddp?
There is no way to know this as a general public offer has not been released in 2012 yet. But in all previous years September free dining (general public offer applicable to US residents) has featured the regular DDP for moderate resorts.
Last year we booked a moderate with free dining for our upcoming trip this August. Our free dining is the Regular Dining Plan (1 TS, 1 CS + snack + mug this time), however, this offer is not available anymore. You never know what will come out for August / September. In the past, if you did not get to book free dining on a bounceback the free dining offer has come out in April.
My guess is, it depends where you stay. I believe the value would get you the QSDP, while the mods & deluxes will get a DDP. I could be wrong, but I think that's what typically happened..
Then of course there is always the option to upgrade if it is QSDP and you want the DDP. We did this 2 years ago and I think it was about $10 a day per person (roughly) or something close to that. Totally worth it to me.
That's ordinarily the situation, with people using Pin codes for free dining getting QSDP at values and mods. But the general public offer was QSDP for values, and then the regular one for mods and deluxe.
