Will Free Dining be Returning?

If I would have had free dining instead of paying ~$100 a day for the plan then I would have saved over $200 a day!!!! Hard to find any other discount like that!

After our trip, I am totally sold on the dining plan! DH & I won't do Disney without the dining plan!

We stay at the Poly. Getting 40% off rackrate is a much better deal for us. Of course we are onlyh 2 adults and one child. We also do not like to worry about what is covered and where. We ate at LeCellier and never had to worry whether the lobster was covered or not. I imagine the dining plan is worth it when you have to budget.

2 adults and 2 juniors staying in a value resort got a dining package worth $140/night. Rack rate for the room was around $80. I can't see them repeating that promotion. Not when guests were adding people to the room reservation just to extra free dining credits.

The pay for 4 nights play for 7 promotion became pay for 5 play for 7. I could see them doing something like a BOGO meal promotion. Pay for an adult get the second free, pay for a child and get a second free. Maybe even something like pay for one night dining get one night free. Both promotions would allow them Disney to say they're offering free dining.

Many guests who tried the free dining plan will now pay for it.

That's really it. What Disney learned from its experience with the dining plan so far is how much it is worth. We can be sure that they'll use the knowledge next year to set its price.

This is exactly what we did. We stayed at a Value for the 1st time (wonderful experience BTW) and paid $88.00 per night (incl.tax). We actually did have 2 adults & 2 kids and saved $100.00 per night. It was a fantastic value for us.....would LOVE to do it again!

I cannot believe that people would do that...wait..I can believe it. I guess I never thought of people doing that. It would be very easy to say there are more people in the room than there actually were, very sneaky. I hope it does come back, even BOGO would lure me there.

I still say that their promotion in Sept.Oct is going to have to be spectactular given the horrible hurricane season of 2005. My annual passes are in hand and I'm ready the second it's released :rotfl2:

That is where we stayed as well. As I said, if we would have paid $300 a night for the room (rack rate) and received over $200 worth of food (average) free a day. Certainly would have been a tremendous savings for us! But understandibly the dining plan isn't for everyone.

If they offer the free dining plan again, we will be definately be taking another trip sooner rather than later (luckily we have tix left over from this trip)
