Hey guys
I made my ps and we decided that on xmas eve we will go to MK- I got through for five of us at cinderellas royal table for breakfast and liberty tree tavern for dinner- wooohooo. But when I called this morning for xmas I told the lady we wanted to book the latest breakfast seating at spoodles and she said she had 840 and 940 but i better take 840 because epcot might close. I thought this was strange and listened to her but I am hesistant cause I thought epcot never closes since its the biggest park. I thought it be nice to wake up alittle later open some gifts at the DOLPHIN and stroll on the boardwalk to spoodles for breakfast. Then we planned on relaxing and going to epcot mid afternoon for all the xmas activites and eating dinner in italy. So my question to you guys is do you think i should listen and keep what the cm suggested? or change it to what I wanted? and do you think spoodles is good for breakfast and how is italy for dinner? Any help is appreciated
I just hope that we arent going to miss out on the xmas spirit like my uncle is saying by not going to Magic kingdom that day but we dont want to be sandwhiched and especially since my brother is in a wheelchair it might be tougher
Sorry so long but I needed to vent to my friends
Thanks

There is a very real possibility that Epcot will reach capacity on Christmas Day.

If you are staying on site property, they will "guarantee" you admission to a park, but not necessarily the park you wish to attend. For example, if you arrive at Epcot and they have closed admissions due to high crowds, you will be directed as to which park to proceed to in order to obtain entrance.

I have found when this occurs, most often folks are directed over to Animal Kingdom or MGM. I would follow the CM's advice. Good luck!!

I don't care for the rest in Italy.

CarolAnnC..........do you know if we leave the park for a break and come back for a dinner PS and more play, will they let us back in? We have two small kids who will never make it the whole day.

Please, no speculations on this matter.

Spoodles is one of my favorite WDW places for breakfast...several very unique and delicious dishes (the breakfast flatbread is GREAT (kind of like a light crispy, breakfast pizza)... I can't imagine it feeling too "Christmasy", but then maybe it doesn't need to.

The only time we were ever there when parks closed we just showed our resort id and ran our tickets and they let us in....of course it was so crowded I didn't want to stay long....but we got back in!!!

If the park is at capacity they will not let you in, even if you were at the park earlier in the day.

By "at capacity," I mean the park is closed to all--even resort guests. If I'm remembering correctly, that is the last level of closing. I'm not sure how often that happens, though.

You will still be guaranteed entry into a park, just not necessarily the one you want.

I bought Candelight Processional Tickets for XMAS Eve?

Will I be able to get in for those, even if the park is closed??

does anyone have any better ideas as to where to eat breakfast on the boardwalk area and for dinner in epcot? We are staying at the dolphin so we want to stay in the area. THANKS and I want to make this extra special since my mother and brother havent been in vacation in over 6 yrs

And so what happens to the $$ already paid for a PS for a holiday meal if they won't let you back in?

Does anyone know if they have ever closed the parks completely?

Last year for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, EPCOT did not close. We went to the latest CP at EPCOT on Christmas Eve and ate at LeCellier before that. We also went over on New Year's Eve after eating at Spoodles. Both times we went through the International Gateway entrance without a problem.

Thanks HBC, anyone know about MK?
Was Epcot open til midnight Christmas week?

Typically, only MK is open until midnight xmas week, except for NYE. ::MickeyMo

We have been there on NYE for the last 2 years and MK has closed by 10am to all guests both years(they will not let you into the park if they are a max capacity even if you have a PS). It was no problem park hopping from MGM to Epcot on NYE (even entering Epcot at 4:30pm). Epcot can handle a larger crowd. AK did close on day during xmas week but can't remember which. I don't think you would have a problem with the Spoodles reservation.

We have a similar Christmas morning plan as you. We have a PS at Yacht Club Galley at 9:30 and then will wander into EPCOT. Our idea of Christmas is not to get up and rush with the crowds. It wouldn't seem like Christmas.

Last year I believe MK was closed during the day on Christmas. We went after dinner. The crowd cleared out after the fireworks at 9, when we got there, and had no problem getting around thereafter. Epcot closed at 9:30 everyday before NYE.

One thing to your advantage of eating at the Boardwalk is you can use the WORLD SHOWCASE Entrance. You will have less of a crowd.

And this is mainly for Disny Resort Guest. So I dont for see you having any problem getting into EPCOT.

I have only been to the MK once that was closed. We went to Epcot and had very little lines.

When it reaches capacity and you want in, I find if you show up around 2 pm you can usually go right in.

Also, remember that World Showcase opens at 11 am so even if they fill to capacity that capacity will expand at 11 am.

I personally have never seen EPCOT close or heard of it closing the place is HUGE.

I would take the later PS at Spoodles and then head over to Epcot after you eat since you are so close. You should get there around 11 am when World Showcase opens so I don't think the crowds will be a problem.

Another possibility would be to eat breakfast at the Dolphin's Fresh restaurant and then head over to Epcot. Both Fresh and Spoodles are excellent, but I think the atmosphere at Spoodles might be more Christmasy. We have eaten at Alfredo's in Italy and LOVED IT!! If you wait until mid-afternoon to go over to Epcot, I wouldn't wait until it is too late. Epcot will be getting most of the people turned away from MK. I really don't think it will be a problem since you are a resort guest. When you do Christmas Eve at MK, definitely plan on staying the whole day. I wouldn't be surprised if MK closed later that day as well.

We have a PS at Garden Grill so we can have a PS for the Candelight processional on Christmas eve. THinking about parking by boardwalk and entering through the world showcase, but don't know where it is. Can you leave throught the world showcase entrance to avoid the mass exodus ou the front after Illuminations? And if so , where is the entrance near boardwalk into the showcase?
