Unlike some other timeshare operations, DVC has one price and that's what everybody pays. Don't expect to hold out for a "last chance, absolutely lowest we can go" price when you take a tour.
I've been thinking about purchasing DVC, and my question is: Do the guides have the ability to negotiate? For instance, would they be able to pay closing costs, etc in order to get a sale? Just curious if anyone knows...
If you like the idea of wheeling & dealing, you should consider a DVC resale through one of the resale brokers. You are free to negotiate to your heart's content if you go that route. Purchasing through Disney though is always on their terms.
Good luck!

Even the resale market is on "Disney's terms" as you can negotiate a great purchase and Disney will snap it up themselves as they have the right of first refusal on any resale transaction. So if the negotiated price is too low, Disney will buy it themselves and you are back to square one.
You might negoiate an "extra ice cream" from thier little stand..... LOL!
This isn't exactly true. There have been times when Disney has a couple different incentives, and would only tell people about the "good" incentive if they asked. The most common situation is during a Friends and Family promotion.Unlike some other timeshare operations, DVC has one price and that's what everybody pays.

Sure, that's a given but if someone is looking for a "deal" they are more likely to find one on the resale market as opposed to buying direct. Many things are negotiable in a resale transaction, purchase price being just one of them. Nothing is negotiable through Disney and that's the main point.

Disney seemed very willing to negotiate when we purchased.
They said "Give us your money".
We said we wanted to pay by check or credit card.
Disney broke down and agreed.
You guys don't seem to be very good at this negotiation thing.![]()
