I remember years ago to buy into DVC the minimum points to buy was 230. Then I think they lowered it to 210. Now it is at 150.

Back in 1999 I bought 150 Boardwalk Villas points for $65. a point. After Magical Beginnings my cost was $8250.

It seems that with each new DVC resort opening, the cost per point keeps going up. It seems that the cost may reach a level where it becomes unreachable for some familys to buy in.

Any thoughts on if DVC may lower the amount of points to buy in. Do you think this would be a good thing for DVC or do any of you see any negatives to this. I would be curious to hear what others have to say about this. Thanks for reading.

As long as the number of points needed for a reservation doesn't change much, allowing people to buy in at a lower point total may not help.

Say, you could buy in at 50 points making it more reasonable for more people to join. What would those people do with only 50 points? Not much. Then what, they have to buy even more points maybe at an even higher cost once they discover that 50 points doesn't go far. That might leave people very displeased.

I suspect they won't change I but would think an increase in the minimum is more likely that a decrease with the higher points at the newer resorts over OKW.
