You are assuming people have the funds in an investment account (indeed, you are assuming people have an investment account in the first place...) which they will be using to pay for the vacation. Future WDW visitors are probably in a thousand different financial situations. If you are effectively paying cash for the tickets, then you save something buying prior to any increase. Similarly, if you are putting them on your 27.9% credit card anyway, and carrying that balance, there seems little point to waiting for the price to go up
There's an awful lot of banter that seems unnessary in this thread.
There are valid points brought up that some find it to their financial benefit to purchase tickets prior to an increase while other recommend you weigh that against the time value of money.
Both are cool, I'm not sure what benefit to the DISboards community comes out of bickering over it.
The key is to get more revenue through tickets. They can't simply increase the price. This risks keeping people from coming, in the end nullifying the revenue growth through increased the prices.
When they decide that future bookings are strong enough they will bring in higher rates.
Disney will continue to raise prices on a regular basis, and we will all, like good lemmings, follow the rest of the suckers {myself included} over the cliff, into the precipice, and to Disneys front gates. So shall it always be.
Well, well, guess I was correct, wasn't I? Prices are officially going up, up,up , and away!! Just like always.........in August. Funny how some say they weren't raising prices this year. And as I stated, we will all keep paying the ever increasing prices..........oh yea, and get less for our money,
