Was in MK last night and noticed they are still displaying Betsy Ross flags:

Given that these are now associated with racism and slavery, as per Nike this week and the subsequent outrage across the social media landscape, will Disney take steps to remove these flags? Considering how many people may see them on a daily basis and be hurt by what they stand for, it seems only prudent that they be taken down and an apology be issued.

The Betsy Ross Flag is not racist. Unfortunately white supremacy and neo nazi groups have tried to appropriate it into a nativist symbol, often by including a Roman Numeral #2 (II) in the center of the 13 stars. The flag’s original meaning and intent is to represent the original 13 colonies that made up the US. Do not let hate groups overtake this symbol. It is a piece of our history that should be maintained and used by all Americans especially during the 4th of July. While I respect Nikes decision based on not wanting to sell a product that might be misused by hateful people, don’t let others turn the betsy ross flag into a hateful symbol! Share and celebrate the true backstory of the flag.
