Will Disney know I am a DVC owner?

I booked one night at the BCVs, in a studio, with points, two nights at the AKL in a CL studio with points and paid cash through Disney for a value studio at the AKL for the last night. Now I know I won't have to pay to park for any of these nights, but I am wondering about that last night. Will Disney know that I am a DVC owner to avoid charging me for that last night I booked directly through them?

I'm thinking probably not, in the past on the rare occasion I've stayed a night or two at Pop Century before checking in at OKW, the reservation agent knew I was DVC by my profile and could see my DVC reservation, but the resort front desk did not know, since the reservation was not made through the DVC system. In California, historically, if you book through DVC, even if it is a cash reservation, you do not pay parking, if you book through Disney Reservations, you do. I'm thinking this is how the new policy at WDW will also work. Did you call Disney Reservations or DVC and ask if you would need to pay parking if you booked through regular Disney Reservations?

No, I haven't called. I just know it said if a DVC member was staying at a DVC unit, no matter how they paid, points or cash.

I'm just going to budget for a night of parking. If I need it I'll pay to park, if I don't I'll put it toward spending allowance.

It will be a nice perk if it does apply to regular cash reservation at DVC resorts. But I haven't seen anyone post their personal experiences, yet.

Right. If I have to pay, the notice at the bottom of the booking page, after I paid, is very misleading.

True, Disney and DVC aren't always the best when it comes to clarity when posting on the websites. If you do have to pay, it is misleading, and they should change the wording. That is why I encourage you to call and check to be sure, and if they say you'll have to pay, you should mention it is misleading.

Check your folio we were charged each day for parking noticed just before checking out called to have it removed from the bill we were told we had to go to front desk to do so. They did so but not clear why when I confirmed at check in we are members t h is was charged.

Well I will have to pay for it the night we are at AoA. I just suck it up. It will be worth it for my daughter's surprise.

Ok it was my understanding as DVC members, if we are staying in a Dvc villa booked with cash or points, parking is free.
Is this not correct?
Thanks
Kerri

How did you book, directly with Disney or directly with DVC?

My understanding is ANY stay in a DVC villa is free parking. Because parking is a part of dues, and the dues for the points representing that unit are being paid by someone. Even on cash stays, those units have point representation (and paid dues) on the back end.

The corollary to this is that a DVC member staying in a non-villa is is subject to the same parking cost rules as the Great Unwashed Masses*, possibly even if booked with points via the Disney Collection.

* you know I'm kidding, right? I was just reading DVC Neighborhood again tho, and most of them aren't.

At DL the parking was always included when booked on points at PP or DLH - likely because the points cover parking lot maintenance. So I'd guess at WDW it should be the same but I don't know for certain.

When we had the charges removed I asked why, they asked how we booked I had booked through DVC with Points, when they printed our folio it did not indicate we were members. The only unique thing for our reservation was the Accessible accommodation, perhaps when it was flagged for the accommodation an the hotel side for locked assignment the DVC status go lost.
I did confirm that when I book a reservation as a DVC member whether or not I am staying in the unit parking should not be charged. We give a week to the nieces and nephews when they graduate college and I have one pending. Again they confirmed yes after checking with back office. I plan to just going to have them make sure member status is on account at check in to avoid this issue. As well as check the folio before check out.
