Will DCL offer larger discounts next year?

Given the severity this hurricane season, and given predictions of similar expectations in years to come, does anyone think that DCL will lower rates to induce people to sail next hurricane season? My bet is they don't.

I was on the crusie that lasted 10 nights and I have to tell you that many people re-booked for this time of year so I doubt it.

It is highly unlikely that the pricing structure will go down. Cruise lines know the potential problems of sailing during this time of year, and have reduced rates already. Many cruisers know that this is probably the cheapest time of year to sail, so they take advantage of it. As you can see if you check out cruises on DCL, many of the trips are full, or near full (only able to get the higher category rooms).

But, as a potential cruiser, this is a definite "buyer beware" time of year to be sailing. As one poster said on another post, it is fun to them to never know where they will "really" end on their cruise.

Remember that capacity is down by 50% between May and the start of September next year as the Magic is off to California, with simple supply and demand, prices would go up.

I haven't even cruised yet but I am going on the 9/26/04 wonder. I just cancelled our family trip that I had booked for next year 9/25/05. It just is not worth the worrying for me bringing down 2 children ages 3 and 4. So instead we will get a lower category and sail during a safer time of year.
