Will crowds be less next week?

We are going on Thursday August 16th and were wondering if the crowds might be less since it's closer to school starting?

You're probably okay next week. Anything after August 18th will probably be some of the busiest days of the year - nightmare - as the Southern CA passes will be unblocked.

Are they blocked from DCA also? Or just from DL?
We are going on Aug, 20-22 and touringplans shows much lower crowd index for that week comparing to the prior week.
Maybe weekdays we are going to be fine and only weekends will be crazy?

Not significantly less. It's summer. It's DLR. I would pack some patience.

Enjoy your visit! A visit to DLR during a busy summer day is better than no visit to DLR.

19th will be very, very crowded, as the majority of the passes have Sunday as their first day back after the summer - and still many, many people have yet to see Carsland. Believe it or not, Saturdays are sometimes the LEAST crowded.

DCA on the 19th and DL on the 20th and 21st. A LOT of AP holders who have been blocked out all summer will be coming to DCA on the 20th to see the new Cars Land offerings and Buena Vista Street stuff.

But you can park hop and go back and forth from each park very easily.

Agreed. Cars Land will be insane on the 20th.

Blockouts are the same for both parks. There's no difference.

I love TP for many things but their crowd predictor for DLR is not one of them. I noticed what they had for crowd predictors those dates and thought, "that's crazy." I have been that week almost every year for the past 10 years and can testify the crowds are crazy--much worse than the 2 weeks before! It's gotten worse every year. I assume that's because of the increase in number of local APs. The 20th will probably be horrible at DCA especially.

If I were a betting woman I would bet those days you're going will be some of the busiest days of the summer. Sorry I hope I'm wrong for your sake. Maybe all the SCA select pass holders who have waited for 2.5 months to see CL will think everyone else will be there so they decide not to go, but I doubt it.

Everyone says the 20th will be a nightmare. Does this of course extend past the 20th, or drops off a little for the rest of the week? We get into Cali on the 20th, but will not actually go to Disney till the 21st.

I'm interested in this too. We are starting the parks on the 21st as well.

I'm interested too. We will get there on the 15th and planned on doing MK on the 15th, DCA on the 16th (or maybe both) and both on the 18th. I am hoping that things will go smoothly.
