I have never been on either :confused3 Some of Ds's favorite characters are Mickey, and Buzz. He is not a child who scares easily. In fact, Im not sure I have ever seen him scared :teeth: But I know that some rides/attractions are much different than what he encounters on a daily basis at home.

Any thoughts appreciated..... :flower:

Buzz is not a problem. My nephew that is 3 loved it. It is really cartoony and light. My DD on the other hand didn't like 3D movies until last year. No matter what the subject matter she did not like 3D, it seemed to spook her. She watched the movies w/o the glasses and was fine. Now, one of her favorite attractions at MK is Philharmagic.

Enjoy!

My DD is 17 months old now and loves Buzz! It's also my son's favorite ride.

We do avoid the 3-d movies with them when they are young though. They can be very loud! Also, it's impossible to keep the 3-d glasses on the child.
My son is almost 6 and loves Space Mtn but still doesn't like the 3-D shows becuase of the noise.

I agree. My dd (3) still won't wear the glasses during the show so it's not as fun for her. Buzz is one of her favorites though! She drives and we shoot.

It will probably depend on several things that usually change daily with the child. DS loved Buzz and all the 3D shows when he was under 22 months. Then at 22 months, he was terrified of them in different places throughout the ride/show. Usually where it was dark but not always. Now at 28 months, he is beginning to like them again or at least he isn't as terrified. We can never tell what it will be like so we just take chances every now and then.

My kids also didn't get the 3D movies until 4 or so. 3 1/2 my son was sort of close to figuring them out. At 2 1/2 my daughter didn't get it at all - wouldn't wear the glasses and it was just an out of focus movie.

Although myself, my wife, and my oldest daughter (10 years) LOVED Philharmagic, my youngest daughter (6 years) kept her eyes closed the entire time and refused to open them. And of course the 3-D glasses were not even attempted. Yes, I have to admit, that there are some sensory experiences that are rather intense but it is really how your child interprets them. Considering you know your child best, I am sure you could predict how your child would react. I do recall hearing some kids screaming behind us during the performance...

I have to agree with everyone else. We took DD for her 2nd birthday. She was a fearless child at home so I really didn't think she would have any problems. She loved all the rides at WDW except for the 3d ones (and Fantasmic). We did the Bugs Life one first and she only had to see one thing come at her face and we were done. I thought we would try the Philharmagic one since its characters she loves but she was scared of that too. She just put her head in my chest the whole time on both of them. Needless to say we skipped the other two 3d shows.

Buzz wasn't scary to her at all but wasn't fun either, I think it bored her.

My 23 month old DD loved Buzz so much. We rode it about a thousand times. Didn't try any 3D stuff b/c I knew she wouldn't keep glasses on and I heard they are very loud.

Out of any of the 3D movies, PhilharMagic would be the one I would try. As said, the glasses could be kept off. Music may be too loud, but it is not scary music. It also has very recognizable characters (Donald Duck is the main character), which might help if he's scared at all.

If you plan on doing the other 3D movies, start with this one. If this one is too scary, for sure don't do the others.

It depends on your kid. We took DD4 (then 3) on Buzz for the first time in July and she was terrified. Simply terrified. But she loves motion rides like the Barnstormer and the Astro Orbiter. Philharmagic freaks her out too, although she *says" she wants to see it and then spends the whole movie on my lap glancing at the screen occasionally.

Thanks for all the input everyone!!! I have ridden most everything, and I have a good idea what he will enjoy, but I was scared to take him on a new ride without hearing from some other parents first. We will definitely try Buzz!!! As far as Philharmagic, I think this sealed the deal....

Donald Duck is the #1 most important thing in Ds's life. I think he places him higher than MOM in a list of importance :rotfl: So I think we will have to try this one, and just be prepared to cover his ears :flower: MK is the first park we will be visiting, so that will give us an idea about the other 3d shows.

THank you all so much!!! Two more days! Im so excited!!!!
