Whenever I ride BTMRR or EE I get nauseous.
Has anyone taken Bonine or Dramamine before going on either of these rides and does it help ?

Thank you

I use Dramamine before Star Tours, Mission Space & Teacups. Works great!

This sounds like a good idea, but how do you react to those meds? For me personally, dramamine knocks me out! So while it would probably work on a ride like the mission space or star tours, I would be a waste for the rest of the day!

I never thought to try those, which one would people recommend? I get nauseous on Everest, teacups, star tours, etc.

I'm the same as you! One of my family's greatest remember when moment is when I feel asleep standing up while waiting in line for a ride at Disney after having taken Dramamine! They do have a non drowsy formula that works much better for me.

I have severe motion sickness and Bonine works well, but I still get just a little nauseous on some rides. I take it once a day at Disney first thing in the morning if I know I want to ride things that will bother me. It doesn't cause any drowsiness for me unless I take it with something else that can cause drowsiness. Then it seems to really enhance it. I made that mistake once with an anti-anxiety med.

It won't hurt to try it! Bonine makes me a little bit sleepy (like - I can't drive a car if I take it as I'd be at a higher risk for an accident) - but not as sleepy as I get with Dramamine. I would try either drug on a random day at home after a good night's sleep when you don't need to drive someplace and see how they make you feel BEFORE the trip.

It doesn't work for me - but I have pretty significant issues with motion sickness. I don't actually get sick on those two rides, though.

I have taken bonine for years and it works well for travel.
In the parks, I wear my sea bands, take a zofran (prescription) and chew ginger gum!

I was nervous, not having been to Disney in almost 10 years and reading how once you hit 40 your body can react differently to rides than you are accustomed to. As a result, I tried Motion Eaze. It is sold in a tiny bottle and you just put a couple of drops behind your ears. It doesn't smell all that great but the scent does not linger, just noticed it when I was putting it on. Now, I guess I can't say for sure if it worked but I had no problems on any ride at all and no risk of the side effects (like drowsiness). Just something to think about maybe?

It takes the edge off for me and I'm able to ride BTMR and TOT with no nausea or dizziness whatsoever. I'm still not brave enough for EE, SM, Star Tours or Mission Space though. Even the non-drowsy makes me a bit tired but I'm super sensitive to it. Your mileage may vary.

Bonine has been a lifesaver for me on any and all rides. It's non-drowsy, so you can take it and not be a complete zombie the rest of the day. Really, you can take any brand of meclizine (including non-drowsy Dramamine) and be fine. The drowsiness comes alongside dimenhydranate, which is the more common formula Dramamine uses.

Sea bands are a pretty good option, too; they worked really well for my morning sickness, back in the day.

I never even thought of bonine before going on rides, but that's a great idea! We just got back from a cruise, and it worked so well--no drowsiness like dramamine.

I used to be able to ride any theme park attraction known to man when I was a kid. Not so much these days.

I've tried Bonine and had no problems with stomach issues on rides, but it made me sleepy. With respect to EE, that backwards part just messes with my head. Some days I feel like I'm cool with it, other times I just pass on riding it.

Regular Dramamine makes me very tired as well. But the "less drowsy" formula works like a charm for me. Alleviates the motion sickness, while leaving me wide awake to enjoy everything.

Ginger chews and ginger gum have worked better for me than Dramamine or bonine. The only ride I stay away from is Space Mountain. Last time I road was before ginger chews and it was just awful for me. So I won't risk it. But now most of the coasters are great and I'm in my 50's.

I was told by my pharmacist that bonine is good for 24 hours so take before bedtime sleep through the drowsiness and be fine the next day. I did this in California before going on whale watch. It worked great. Boat was on it its side a couple of times rocking and I didn't have any issues.

Thanks everyone for your replys.
I will take Bonine on the days we go to the MK and AK.
It does not make me tired or sleepy.
I have ginger mints I can take too.
