Our first day in parks this week was an EMM day @ MK. IMO it made what turned out to be a challenging day even worse. Curious as to the number of passes they are selling. It has to be a lot IMO. Will avoid the park on that day in the future at all costs
We had arrived late the night before and decided to park @ the CR (CM Dinner that day) and walk over to the MK.
Continued issues with an awful stroller rented from Apple Scooters had me hesitant to use bus or monorail. On-going issues opening and closing that even bell service experts couldn't master. Wound up taking anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to get the thing up and running. Reverse when exiting the park. Finally, took to just putting down the back split seat and shoving it into the SUV. Apple said they had no replacement available btw.
Anyway, by the time we arrived @ MK it was 9:30 am. Security wait was dauntting. Wasn't helped by what appeared to be people straddling both sides leading up to the security line in an attempt to be in the 'faster' line, something I've never observed in the past.
Finally, thru that line, had to stop by GS to pick up my new AP. Was directed over to the kiosk building by a CM who indicated it would be 'faster'.
Ha
We didn't pass under the railroad until almost 12 pm. Cannot believe how hot it gets in that pre-entrance area of the park, but there is little shade, just never noticed in the past. Glad we had water/Gatorade on hand.
Once in the parks, the app wait times were way off, a first I've experienced. It was what I would term 'holiday-crowded'. Didn't help that weather was bad with severe storms. Told to leave 7DMR line several times via a combo of weather and technical issues, eventually did get to ride it. Even buzz light year broke down on us (pretty cool they have automatic gates that pop up between the track and attraction during those times).
Rest of our visit was enjoyable even tho GD's JTA was cancelled for just a few sprinkles. Other parks were busy but certainly do-able. If it were my first visit to the MK, I'd honestly never go back after that first day.
