Will an oscillating fan trigger the AC room sensor?

I am one of those people that can’t sleep at night unless the room is cold (not cool, cold!) When we were at the GF last year, a few times I woke up ion the middle of the night and the room was stuffy because the room sensor wasn’t detecting any movement in the room and it overrode the AC settings. I’m going to be at the Poly in a month (I assume that the Hawaii building now has these same sensors) and I’m curious to know if anyone has ever been able to trick the sensor with an oscillating fan? We’re flying down, but a quick stop at a Target would be well worth the extra effort if it will allow me a better night’s sleep all week.

We stayed at the Poly in the Hawaii building in June. I too, like a cool room. We were never hot, our room felt good the whole time. Im not sure they have the same sensors. For that matter we also stayed in a 2bdrm at BWV and didnt have that problem either.

call concierge staff and have them send someone to overide the sensors. We had a problem with the sensors at AKL but not at Polynesian. AKL's were set at 74 while the one at Polynesian was 72. :D

The first thing I do when I check in at the Poly is call maintenance
and have them override the sensor. The room will stay very cold
but only for 48 hours. You can call and have them do it for you again or do it yourself if you can remember the sequence of steps
to override.

Thank you very much for your replies.:D

Where is the thermostat located in the Poly rooms? I was looking at pics on allearsnet.com and I couldn't see it. Is it in the hallway across from the closet?

I tried the oscilatting fan idea at the CR. It did not work. I wish they would disable those sensors. While sleeping, I would find myself raising my hand in the air every time I turned over, trying to trip the sensor. My wife woke up one night and wondered who I was waiving at! I tried to explain to her the situation, but the next morning at breakfast, she sat as far away from me as possible.

In some hotels locking the door with the deadbolt will disable the secondary thermostat.
