I'm going to a national conference in November and one of the big perks (and reasons I'm actually going, lol) is that they have reserved IOA after hours for a private event from 7:30-11pm

Has anyone been to a park that was open for a private event? I'm curious if all the rides, shops, attractions, etc will be open or do they close some of them down?

Many years ago I was fortunate enough to attend a conference that was based at Disney, but had the big event at Universal (strange, huh). At that time there was only one park, but if I recall correctly, only certain rides were open. I remember the Earthquake ride and the Twister ride but can't remember much else. The food was set up right in amongst the rides which was cool (out on the street in front of the rides) and we had a private "concert" by the Blues Brothers.

This is really up the event organizer as to how much of the park will remain open for this event. You will need to check with the organizer since they are the only ones who will know. I went to the DIS private event last year and it was only HP that was open so check with the organizer.

I'm going to move this thread to the main board since it doesn't belong on the trip reports board.

My apologies for posting it in the wrong board!

I checked my conference website and it says this:
