Will AKL closing affect the quality/experience of restaurants?

I just made a reservation for Boma last friday, for 8/25. I understand that obviously the restaurant is open, but I'm concerned about the construction and lodge closure affecting our experience. I realize it's late to be getting a reservation -- we added a day, and now I need a ts restaurant. I tried WCC first, but the first time they had was 8:30. We can't eat that late because of ds.

Any thoughts? Should I keep it and hope for the best? We are not entering a park that day, so I need a resort or DTD ressie. Should I try for Boatwright's since we are at POFQ? I'm open to suggestions, and also concerned that others w/AKL reservations know about the closure until 9/1.

Nothing official yet, but this is from today's WDW Park Update at mouseplanet.com:

Disney is calling guests in a chronological order to assist them with the change. Boma, Jiko and the Mara are expected to remain open, but perhaps with limited hours.

Thanks, Bob.

I'm concerned whether it's going to be an unpleasant experience because of the construction -- and concerned whether I can find another TS reservation out of the parks at this late date.

We currently have a 5:50 reservation, so I'm hoping the work might be over for the day...

I'm sort of in the same boat. We have an ADR for breakfast there and while I was looking forward to try Boma, it was mostly an excuse to check out the resort itself. Now if it's half closed, noisy/messy and the animals are gone, I really don't see the point anymore.

Did you try & call to see if you could get something else ? Kona at the Polynesian is great. You can watch Wishes from the beach.

That is a great idea, and possibly not full at normal "dinner" time. I tried WCC, but as you can imagine that went nowhere. I would just do CS, but I'm afraid that without a reservation on a Saturday night, even the CS will be crazy. I'm going to check on the Kona menu. I have heard good things about it.

What time range would you recommend in order to be done in time to see Wishes from the beach?

You'll have plenty of time because Wishes is at 10 in the summer. But if you can, try to be there by 9 to see the Electrical Water Pageant which is pretty cute.

I'd call soon if I were you because with free dining the ressies go fast. You could try 'Ohana too but that one's probably all booked by now.
