Will a hotel reservation being modified cancel all FP+

I have ten days booked on site and have been offered to use a family members timeshare off property for a week. Fast-passes are booked..... so if I modify the reservation down to 3 nights would I lose all my FP+?
Wondering if I lose all, do I lose 7 days, but keep 3 days worth, do I lose none bc the hotel reservation wasn't canceled but modified?

Trying to weigh my options. Thanks in advance.

The trick will be in modifying the reservation. Now Disney cancels the reservation and makes a new one for the time frame you need. They don't just lop off days.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I've modified reservations, including changing dates, without changing reservation numbers. There was no cancellation/re-book involved. That being said, being able to simply modify a 10-night reservation to a 3-night reservation is not a given.

You should be fine as long as you just modify only the resort reservation while keeping the ticket days the same. I modified a ten night stay down to 2 nights but still kept the 10 day ticket (keeping the original resort confirmation number). I then booked a separate 8 night room only package at a different resort with no issues. Doesn’t hurt to check with them directly to confirm.

However, it makes a difference if you are modifying the reservation to go to a different on site resort (as I think HongKong Phooey is talking about) versus modifying the reservation and no longer being on site for the total number of days as your ticket is good for. If you book a ten day reservation on site, and have all your fastpasses booked, but then cancel the first few days of your reservation, then yes, I think you will lose your fastpasses. Disney changed their policy on this last year so you cannot just lop off days of your reservation and keep the fast passes.
