Looking at potnetially taking a 4 day cruise but have 12 and 14 yr old boys. Will they be bored? Anybody out there who may have gone through this?

You know your kids best but there are a TON of things to do. Our first cruise was a 4 day with 2 young teens, now we only do 7 days - 4 is just not enough time! On a 4 day there is only one sea day, right? There's the pool, ESPN zone, game room, movies, Studio Sea, organized kids activities, the sports deck on the front of the ship. At CC there is every beach thing you can think of to do from snorkeling to sailing to canoeing to biking. Nassau might be your most boring day - depending on which excursion you book or what you decide to do. It has been 4 years since we did our 4-day and our kids did a teen catamaran excursion.

If your kids are computer nerds, you can rent internet time. I would never do this though - I don't need to spend all that money for my kids to sit in front of a computer!

only if you lock them in the closet!! They will have the time of their lives!

My son was almost 14 last year when we went and this year he'll be 15 when we go. He LOVED it. Both of my boys actually said they'd skip the parks to cruise again. He thought the teen club was very cool and this year should be even better with the transformation of the ESPN club to a teen club. Don't worry. This cruise line truely does have something for everyone. My parents (50+) also had a grand time last year!

just wanted to echo what everyone has been saying ... my son was 15 when we went on or first Disney cruise and let me tell you he was NOT excited about going ... you know, he was far too COOL to possibly enjoy anything DISNEY ... well, he is now 17 and a half and CAN'T wait to leave in 3 weeks ... he has even invited his best friend (who he's had since the 1st grade) to join us ... the two 17 year olds are more excited than my 6 and 12 year old daughters combined, and trust me the 2 girls can't wait either!!!

HAVE FUN! It's the experience of a lifetime!

We cruised on the 6/14 Eastern with 2 kids, DS 13 and DD11..It was our second Disney cruise and we loved it as much as the first time..that said, our kids did not use the kids club...my son went to Common Grounds the first night for the 411 Party, came back and said almost all the teens were older (15-16 year olds)...he felt uncomfortable and did not go back to the club at all. I saw the group of teens and they were an older group..Moving down to the 10-12 year old group was not even something he wanted to discuss...He loved the cruise though, as did our daughter..That was fine with us, as we planned this to be a family vacation and had plenty to do all together and enjoyed spending time together..my DD 11 also went to the club only once...she did not enjoy it but met 2 friends outside of the clubs who she played with the entire week...I wouldn't count on your kids spending alot of time in the clubs, then if they do, great!! There indeed was plenty to do together though, and we loved the week!

Ditto to everything above....I have 3 boys and our first cruise (4day sea/ 3 day land) was 3 yrs ago. After that, the boys were hooked and didn't even care to go to the parks, just cruise. This will be our 3rd cruise and they are now 11 1/2, 15 and 17 1/2. They can't wait and they don't join much either. The teens do go go common grounds but are just happy for the freedom and being able to hang out w/ kids their age. My youngest doesn't care for the clubs...thinks too babyish but he always meets kids his age and hangs out w/ them on the ship. His age group is odd in that the Lab is not geared toward the pre-teen...I don't think.

Not if they'll enjoy bikini watching :)

Very shy DS13 loved the cruise. If he had a brother close in age, he would have had an even better time, I suppose.

I would say it depends on your son. My 12 yo was a little bored. He felt too old for the lab, but wasn't old enough for the teen stuff. With that said, he is looking forward to our next cruise!!
