Hi. Has anyone had their teen do the Wildside Teen Adventure? My ds is 16 and may want something to keep him busy.

Did your teens like it and were they in the 15-17 range? The picture with the excursion has younger looking kids.

Thank you.

My DD did the wild side from 14 to 17 yrs old. The number of kids doing it vary according to which cruise your on and how many teens are there who want to do it. She been with kids as young as 13 and as old as 18, and groups anywhere from 7 to 40+ It's a pretty active excursion but it gives your child a good bang for your buck. My daughter has made long lasting friends and I with their parents on some of these cruises where they first met on these excursions. For each wild side she's' been on there has always been someone her own age and the counsellors tend to pair the kids up appropriately if they haven't done so themselves. She has enjoyed them most of the times and she's done 13. Her favorite part was the snorkeling even though the sea grass freaks her out. And yes there are enough boys for your son not to feel left out

I booked the wild side for my two teens, DS 15, and DD 17. My DD didn't like the clubs...a lot of the kids were younger. The kids tend to age up, so if a 14 year old can access both clubs they tend to go with the older group. My DS loved it!! Maybe it was just our cruise, but they all seemed to be his age. All that to say, when it was time for our CC day, my daughter didn't want to go because she hadn't bonded with anyone. I told her I had paid for it already and she went, although somewhat reluctantly . She had a great time! DS did as well, but I knew he would. In retrospect, I would wait to book while onboard to make sure the kids click. HTH :goodvibes

Agree completely with PPs. I would add - there is on need to book ahead. I don't think this excursion has ever "filled." Kids can even sign up at their club the morning of, as long as a parent goes to fill out the release form.

My son did this excursion this past July, he was 15 almost 16. He really enjoyed it. They did change the kayak part to a high-speed boat tour, which he really enjoyed. They take them to the teen beach also, his pics came out great! Hope he likes it!

My son loved it and the pictures from the group looks like everyone had a great time. I booked Southern Caribbean onboard and the first thing he asked was there a teen excursion for that cruise. He really enjoys them :)

I have just looked at this excursion and I think my dd 15 would enjoy it but she can be a bit finicky - Doesn't really know if she'd like to do it :rolleyes1

We will be there in June, do you think it is safe to wait until we're onboard to book this or should I book it before we travel? I know it's a long time away but I'm a planner :goodvibes

I think a lot of the enjoyment (or lack) for this excursion is going to depend on the teen. When we went in June 2013 my oldest and her BFF both 15, did this excursion. K was excited for it, loved hanging out in the club and had a great time. It was probably her favorite thing from the teen club. Her friend A was also excited (as opposed to really excited), but didn't really like it. She wasn't a fan of the club, didn't particularly want to hang out with people she didn't know and only begrudgingly admits she had fun on the excursion. However, she raves about snorkeling together as a family after the excursion, and enjoyed going out on the bikes later with the younger kids. I definitely think it's worth it, but take into consideration the temperament of your teen.

My son now 17 has done this adventure twice. He omitted some parts he didn't want to do. Can't remember what off hand.

Only thing with this was getting up early and doing a lot of physical stuff , he was really tired from staying up late at Vibe all week. Next time he just wants to hang out with the friends he meets.
