i am sure this question has been asked many, many times before but i need the summertime veterans of WL to assure my DW that the bus and boat trans to the parks during july, 7th-16th to be exact, isnt as bad as she has seen written elsewhere. she was so concerned that she even suggested we look into other resorts.

sorry i posted before finishing. not used to laptop. long time lurker but newbie when it comes to posting.

any info and reassurances would be greatly appreciated.

also thanks for all of the great info previously posted

thanks
tom

You'll occasionally read negative opinions about the transportation system at any of the resorts. Most of the time things run quite well. I wouldn't worry too much about this.

Transportation at WL has improved measurably in recent years. Buses and water launches now come more often. Like the previous poster wrote, I wouldn't worry about it.

My family stayed at WL July of 2003 and thought the transportation was wonderful. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a boat or bus but one time during our 8 day stay. We had a car but parked it the day we arrived and didn't get back in it until after we checked out. Enjoy WL, it is a beautiful resort.

We've had two very long stays there and never had any problems at all! The boats are WONDERFUL and taking the boat the MK early in the morning is one of my all time favorite WDW experiences. We never had any problems with the busses either. They were just as good as any other resort we have stayed at, and better than some. I wouldn't worry about it all. We LOVE the lodge. It is our favorite resort of all, and the only one we have stayed at more than once.

I've always thought the transportation issue at WL was a bit overblown. As one of the other posters pointed out, you will find complaints about any resort at one time or another. Stop worrying and start looking forward to staying at this beautiful resort. :D

We have stayed at the WL twice now, and we think the transportation is a bit of a problem. Would it make us never stay there again? No. We've just learned to give ourselves extra time while planning on going places.

When we were there in August, we usually waited 20-25 minutes for a bus, and then we would have to go to Fort Wilderness and pick up people there. That was a bit of a pain, you're thinking that you're on your way to wherever, and then the bus driver turns toward Ft. Wilderness and it tacks on another 10 minutes to your travel time. The worst was this past December, we waited 35 minutes for a boat to take us to Contemporary for a PS at Chef Mickey's.

Just plan on extra travel time and you'll be fine. Enjoy the Wilderness Lodge, it is a beautiful hotel and you will have a great vacation!!

I am bias so I waited until you received other views.

I have never had to stand going to Parks or back from Parks, (late at parks closing there have been people that had to stand but I never had too) nor have I ever had to wait on the next bus because it was full, when I have stayed at WL.

thanks for all the replies

after reading these replies my DW is not concerned any longer about the transportation problems she has read about. special thanks to GEM for her reply about the boat trip in the morning being one of her favorite disney things to do. after reading that reply the wife smiles and said that the boat ride in the morning is a great way to start our disney day.

thanks
tom
