Wildest Disney Rumor You've Ever Heard...

A few years ago, a friend of mine who was a CM said that Disney was going to build a 5th theme park that was entirely thrill rides called Villians or something. I know probably another tall tale, but fun to think about.

That Disney keeps your fingerprints on file. Doesn't matter how many times it is explained about the finger scanners some people still think that's true.

That Disney is going to build a monorail over to WL.

That the Dolphin was supposed to have a monorail running through the front section of the facade.

Anything having to do with a monorail; seriously at about a million dollars a yard, you aren't going to see one anytime soon.

The actual cost of a completed monorail track is $6300/ft today.

$33,264,000 a mile.
In the 80's Disney bought property in Long Beach (or they didn't :confused3) and I was told it was to build a park similar to Disney Sea is Tokyo and they were going to build a monorail track from Disneyland in Anaheim to the waterfront in Long Beach 30 something miles away.

AK - Beastly Kingdom, Night Kingdom, and Australia

Anything in world showcase - about new countries being added

Japan in world showcase getting a train ride or show.

A 5th park based on Villains or being mostly roller-coaster based.

I'm sure I can think of more!!

Cracked.com. . .It makes me sad just thinking about it, I loved that magazine (mazagine, for true fans of the only true competitor for Mad Magazine).

I like the rumors about Cinderella Castle, that there is no steel, or that it can be taken down for hurricanes.

And for the record, whenever I decide to act indignant and upset with WDW, I always tell the nearest CM that they need to thaw out Walt, I need to have words with him.

Seriously, you must not work in construction in this country.

Prime example - Las Vegas monorail was $141,000,000 per mile.

That equates to about $27,000.00 a foot.

Disney has said on one of the specials on the Travel Channel that they have room for a fifth theme park; and they have an idea of what they are doing, but have never made any significant announcement - so that is actually partially true.

My favorite "recent" nutty rumor (been repeated several times over the last few years) is that they are building the Monsters Inc. coaster over next to Pixar Place, and that since it is inside it is already being built and no-one knows about it.

Walt being cryogenically frozen is probably the craziest of all Disney rumors historically.

The Swan and Dolphin monorail one is a good one for this category, becuase their are a TON of people that believe it even though it makes NO sense whatsoever. (Just look at the building and you can tell it's false - those squares are where ROOMS are located - no-one is going to build a building such that you can just pull out the whole center of the hotel!)

I was just told yesterday that Magic Kingdom did away with Wishes for the new Magic Memories and You show.

The imagineers surveyed thousands of kids. Only a few heard of Indiana Jones and less than that ever saw the movies.
As I left Indy this September, I hear a couple kids ask their dad who Indiana Jones was. I don't think the rumor is true, but that part of the logic probably is.

I've heard the rumors about the "Villains" park for the past 5 years. I will believe it when I see it.

I've also heard that there's the ghost a mechanic inside PoTC at Disney who died while the ride was being built and he's the reason why the ride malfunctions sometimes.

I heard about the strange mechanic guy who used to scare people at the end of Haunted Mansion, turns out it was real, and they found him behind a secret door that lead to nothing.

I LIKE THIS ONE!!!! Disney could use a thrill park and I would love to see more villains.

I would like a Monsters Ride, but honestly think DHS needs an intermediate coaster (think BTMRR) that most of the family could ride). That would be great!Walt being cryogenically frozen is probably the craziest of all Disney rumors historically.
I was waiting for this one!

For my rumor: that RnRC starring Aerosmith was going to be rethemed to Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana. :scared1: This better be nothing more than a rumor!!

C'mon, man! As much as I love Disney (and that attraction) I would boycott RnRC if it was rethemed with JB or HM. :scared1::sick:

My wife and I took the KTTK tour back August and the issue of the fifth park came up. The guide explained to us that WDW currently employs 60,000 people. If you figure 10,000-12,000 per park, you realize that its nearly impossible for Disney to find enough workers in the Orlando area (at least workers that fit the Disney requirements) to staff another park.

In essence, Disney has run dry the employment market, making it impossible to build another park.
