Could anyone tell me more about the Wilderness Lodge? Have always stayed at Yacht or Beach Club. Thinking about changing up, please fill me in on the good and a comparison if anyone knows. :)

Never stayed at YC, but have stayed at BC many times and WL. The rooms at WL are smaller than BC. I love that at WL you can take the boat to MK - in my mind that's the hardest park to get to (don't know why). I don't really care for the pool at WL because it's small, but the pool at the villas is bigger.

Roaring Forks is about the same as what you get at any of the resorts.

The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful, so in my mind you can't go wrong.

For grandeur, spectacular lobby, ease to get to the Magic Kingdom you can't beat the WL.

However the rooms to me will be a major disappointment over the rooms at the Yacht Club. The rooms at the Yacht Club are larger and the new bedding and room decor is nicer in my opinion.

From WL you will be bused to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, so Yacht Club definitely has the advantage to that.

And well the Pool, there really is not much to say, as SAB is way above the pool at WL, in fact the pool at WL is way too small for that resort and always seems crowded.

I also prefer the restaurants that you can access at Yacht Club over WL.

I've stayed at both and prefer YC. WL rooms are smaller, Roaring Forks is too small for the number of people who want to be there when I want to be there, and there is absolutely no comparison between the pools. Epcot is my favorite park, so being able to walk over there trumps the boat to MK from WL in my book. I was fine at WL until I stayed at YC. Now, staying at WL would feel like a step down.

We always stay at YC but last summer toured a few resorts to try to pick a new one to try this summer. We looked at WL and none of us liked it. Pool was sort of cheezy I thought and lobby was to much like AKL which is a resort I don't care for. It didn't hit any of us as a resort we would be interested in staying at.NO comparison between YC and WL. WL felt more like a moderate to me

We haven't stayed at the YC, but have stayed at BC and while it is a nice resort, we love the WL. Even though the BC rooms are a little bigger than the WL rooms, we didn't find them to be a big difference in size. Now going from the BC to the Poly and GF......there is definitely a difference in room size there. But we didn't find that between WL and BC. We love everything about the WL. The location to MK is great, the pool is fun, and Roaring Forks is great for quick CS meals. One major issue for us at YC/BC is no CS (or very limited CS options). We like a hot breakfast without having to do a TS every morning and that's something the Epcot resorts don't have. As far as the pool.....the Poly pool is our favorite of the Disney resorts, with the WL close behind. We liked SAB, but it wasn't anything that blew us away to make us not want to stay anywhere else.

WL is an amazingly themed resort with much to do & easy access to MK, but I have to agree with some PPs that the rooms there are small and just not as "deluxe" feeling as the other deluxe resorts where we've stayed. Of course, it is cheaper, too, so if you don't spend a lot of time in your room, that might not be an issue.

I'm trying the WL for the first time for our April trip. We've spent time at the resort in the past with renting boats, eating there, and taking the bus/boat to the parks. The pool is on the smaller side, along with the small CS area, but it's only one trip and we want to change it up a little, too. I like that the resort is not *too* big.

My last trip we stayed at the WL and I probably wouldn't stay again. The lobby was amazing and I enjoyed Roaring Forks but the only real perk I found was the boat to MK. Other than that the rooms were dated and dark and not the most welcoming. I haven't stayed at the YC but have stayed at the BC and enjoyed it. The rooms are brighter and the location can't be beat. The WL is still nice, but personally I wouldn't pick it over the YC. Enjoy your pick!

Ha! We are having the opposite dilemma... We usually stay WL because we love the decor and the boats to MK ... But this year we wanted to try an EPCOT resort to change it up and I'm scared we won't like it as much as the WL. We're currently booked at Yacht Club but have been debating on switching to Boardwalk Inn.

We've done a few stays at both the Yacht and Beach Club in the past.....if you're interested in EPCOT more than any other park...these resorts are for you....walk to EPCOT and boat to HS (the walk is not short as others have stated).....

We're MK people and the WL suits us perfect....we like being on the lakes, more breezy and fresh air feeling....resort is done up in the mountain lodge theme with the rooms being darker in tone (not drab as others have stated....Lodge is small (approx. 750 rooms) which makes it quaint and not overrun with people (like the monorail resorts harboring day visitors)...the boat to the MK is a pleasant ride over buses....easy enough to boat to the CR and catch the monorail and switch at the TTC for EPCOT....FW is a boat ride away (best buffet on property and cheapest)

As for pools, others may think SAB is spectacular, though it's different, we had more issues at the Y&B with the pool area trying to find chairs or lounges together than we care to...WL pool suits it's resort guests perfectly....plenty of lounges to go around and we find quite easy to grab a table....

All comes down to location and price....We prefer the MK area so WL wins on location and also wins on price over the Y&B, as for square footage, lodge is a bit smaller but hardly noticeable for us...again you get what you pay for...but we're quite happy with the WL...over 10+ stays there and headed back in a few days....

That is exactly why I am having such a hard time changing from Yc/Bc, because the walk to Epcot is wonderful! It can't be beat. I think I will stick with Yc/Bc;)
