It's not talked about as much here, I'd say, because it is the smallest DVC resort and doesn't have a lot of issues. Negative posts hang around a long time. The posts that state "We just got back from a great trip to VWL" come and go quickly as there's just not much to add to that.

Yes, my family loves WL/VWL. As mentioned, the arrival at the majestic stone/log lodge, the lack of palm trees, the music, the theming, the animal prints in the sidewalks, the awesome lobby and the great guard who welcomes you home and salutes....well, I could go on and on.

And yes, there's that "Old Faithful" kind of geyser there. Some have been known to hang out in a chair on the deck overlooking the pool & Bay Lake, just waiting for that geyser's next eruption.

You know, I never thought about it that way, but you're absolutely right. But I hope everyone keeps posting those here today-gone tomorrow great-trip-threads about VWL 'cuz they get me through 'til our next visit.

Please don't get me wrong. On our last visit home we went to the lodge for dinner and had a wonderful time. DH loves the logs!We live in a log home in the foothills of the adirondacks and he is an engineer so checking the ins and outs kept him busy for a while. The lodge is on our list of places we have to stay!

OK, I'm a little biased in my opinion, as we got engaged at Wilderness Lodge 9 years ago (before the Villas).

But, I love everything about it.

My favorites - sitting on the balcony at night and listening to the bullfrogs, the lobby, the smell.

We just got back , and I can't wait until our next trip!
